Ive just started tracing my family tree, typed in my GMs details and there is already a tree... owned by my mum who passed a couple of years ago. I had no idea she was tracing the tree and have no idea how far she got but would like to view it. Is this possible? Cant find any info on how to ask GR about this. I have her death ert etc if needed as proof. Thanks in advance!

Hi Lizzie
Welcome to the boards. Genes don't make it easy to find how to contact them do they?

Try emailing: [email protected]. You might have to wait a day or two for an answer.

Good luck with your research

I did exactly what Vera suggests when I found my late brother in laws tree on here, and they removed it. Didn't need his death cert.

I don't think Lizzie necessarily wants Genes to remove the tree. She wants to view it which is a bit different and I don't think Genes will allow her to - although I could be wrong about that.

the tree owner is supposed to give permission for another member to view .......

therefore I think that Kath is correct.

Unfortunately in this case :-(
