Hi all Did you have a Happy Easter? Not too many chocolate eggs! We had Easter Sunday at my brother's place with some of the family where a tree was planted in her honour of our new great-niece who is nearly two months old. Our son and his girlfriend were with us for the weekend. Off for my afternoon coffee. John in NZ

Morning folks ,its grey and cold here again, but they have promised sun again in the week,!! but i will be in work. Had a great time last night after finding something out for my friend I checked on some hot matches again and looked on a tree that had been opened for me,had rellies come from all over.will keep me busy for ages. Hi John ,had a good easter thank you .and guess what NO EASTER EGGS.have had lots to eat ,but not chocolat, which isn't that bad,i suppose. What a lovely idea about the tree,I have a couple of shrubs in the garden for my mam and uncle, but only since they died.Watching the tree and the child flourish would be great, Had a lovely roast dinner yesterday, roast leg of lamb, with all the trimmings.Think it was NZ.as well, having the rest of it cold with salad tonight and some New potatoes. Have loads of ironing to catch up on.and then search these new rellis,Speak to you soon ,love Brenda

Good morning peeps,i didn't get on at all yesterday after the upstairs cistern sprung a leak overnight and i had a heck of a job doing a temporary repair to make the toilet usable. It turns out that the seal at the bottom of the syphon has perished and you can't get them any more ,so though i have replaced the seal ,it dosn't fit properly and is still weeping,so the search will start today for a blue replacement cistern, from B & Q. The only trouble is ,once Liz gets in there among the plants it will mean another load of flowers to put in the garden before i have even got the weeds out .oh joy.i do LOVE mixing jobs out there grrrrr. It looks as though the hawk has at last moved his hunting grounds because all of my birds have come back, from the dunnocks and spaerrows ,to the wren ,tits ,and thrushes, and i am back to filling the seed containers every couple of days. Has everyone enjoyed their holiday?ours was very quiet for a change ,and i was really good ,despite getting two eggs ,i have had no chocolate at all,i may even donate these two eggs to the grandchildren later this week, when they have finished their own lol. I do have to go shopping this morning ,we havn't been for days ,prefering to use the stuff out of the freezers so that we can get them defrosted, but we still need bits like kitchen rolls wahing powder potatoes and some other bits and pieces. Hope everyone is okay and fit and enjoying the milder weather. See you all later.fred.

hello everyone appears to have had a good easter, to-day the sun is shining and the snow is melting and it was a bit warmer. I was out to-day the car was making a funny noise so I went to see my mechanic nothing serious back on thursday for a tune up the car that is. if we have a few nice days I may even get it washed. I have a busy two weeks coming up my son is off to san fransico on busines so will be helping out with the children, also he is planning a surprise graduation party at the church for lindy as she finishes her teaching degree, it will be held on may 26th which is the oldest gransons birthday he will be 12. 2 days after my 65th. she really will be surprised it will be in the afternoon for about three hours. we are all very proud of her going back to university in her middle 30's plus having three children. she did graduate with honours when she was first at university with a double degree , but as she says going back this time she felt like her brain was not able to take it all in at times but she has been pulling straight A's hope you all will keep enjoying the nice weather that I think that you are getting bye for now dorothy

Hi all, Well we had a quiet Easter, with delicious food cooked by me of course. I made really nice asparagus soup with pieces of ham and boiled egg in. Even Johan made a comment on how nice it was - and that is seldom, mostly just finishes everything and no mention of if it was nice or not. Next week Johan and I are going into Germany, the Eifel district for a mid-week break. We are going from 16-20th April. We were going to the river Mosel but that is 400 kms drive. Even the Eifel is 300 kms drive for us. Anyway, let's hope it will be worth it. Today Johan cleaned the balcony with the high pressure water hose. He looked so funny with his waterproof clothes on. Anyway that is now finished and now my help who comes tomorrow can clean the windows and other small jobs. Tomorrow afternoon I have to see my surgeon, and hope this is the last time for a few months. Today I dismissed the nurses who come in every day and told them I was quite capable of doing everything myself now. Anyway I started doing lots of jobs which I had wanted to do for a long time, and ended up doing too much and feeling so dizzy. It is difficult to know how far you can go, but once I get started I find it difficult to stop. I am sure many of you are the same as me. Sylvia xxx

Hi all:o)) Hey thats funny Fred - you and me having a Loo prob, most be something in the water!!! We're off to B & Q or ?? on the hunt for a new bathroom suite l reckon cause they don't make this colour no more!!!! The suite is the original approx 25yrs old, avacardo green l think - l would much rather white anyway. As long as we get the loo for now thats the main thing - can't see it holding for too long!!! lol OH is not a d.i.y. man so b.i.l. is helping to fit it. Madoc is a dream at the moment, well apart from going bonkers at the silly little pug thing down the road - well l ask you he does'nt know the difference between rats and pugs does her???? lol He was sniffing like crazy in the greenhouse yesterday and when l investigated we found a dead mouse - he'd made a nest in an old sack, had a store of seeds as well, bless, probably too cold or old - phewww the smell - surprised the cat did'nt find it first!! Talking of cats - Fat cat is fine, bit fussy with his food but then most cats are!. He settles in the lounge every night on his fluffy fabric rug (the dog has cats new bed from USA), which was our other dogs (Lady), l had to throw his bed away. Been sowing seeds today, did abit of weeding yesterday and need to re-pot a few plants, its one of the things l always forget to do:o( Ordered a new sewing machine last wednesday, which should have arrived by now but it has'nt - grrrr. My old one is 30 yrs old now and as l'm doing abit more sewing lately for the granddaughter(and new grandchild due in May) thought l would treat myself. It cost £80 reduced from £300 - a display model (reboxed) - hope its ok, should be brill for that price - can't remember all the things it can do. Sylvia so good so hear you back to normal, and being busy again:o)) But take it easy girl!! Dorothy bet your so pleased to see the sun. How exciting for your d.i.l., she must be very cleaver. Ok thats it for now:o) jude sarf wales:o) xx

Hi, Well visited the surgeon today and he thought the wound also looked ok. I am still a bit dizzy so had my blood checked today. The surgeon will phone me with the result on Friday. Nice man, always a personal touch with him, he could have let one of the girls phone, or me, but no he phones himself. After he did my operation he personally phoned Johan to tell him that it was successful. These are the sort of doctors I admire! A bit overcast today, but the weather outlook is super, temperatures which we would be lucky to have in the summer! Mind you, I am still feeling a bit chilly, so maybe good that my blood has been checked. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Hi all, Well I went out on my scootmobile today to get a few odds and ends for our holiday next week: sweets for in the car, paper handkerchiefs etc.etc. Well in this shop, a bit like Boots the chemists, every corner I turned was an obstacle in the way. In the end I just knocked over a lot of loose sweets (pick and mix type of thing). I giggled to myself and tried to pretend I was very upset. I ended up with being given a packet of chocolate Easter eggs and lots of free samples: shampoo, hand cream etc. Should I do this again do you think? Shops should be accessible to handicapped people, but when they first open they are ok and then they try to put more and more on display. Ooh! Sylvia xxx

Morning all Bit dull this morning ,but i have just had a chuckle at our Sylvia peeps lol,you know what it is ,you can't take her anywhere twice ,they won't have her back to apologise for the first time hee hee..Pity you can't get behind the counter in the local bank sylvia ,and knock over the pile of cash waiting for the security company ,you might get a few banknotes [i wish] lol. Fred is going nowhere today ,i don't fancy my chances going out in the car on the 13th so i will bide at home . We had a good time yesterday though ,getting to the park by 1030 am,to amble straight away along the riverside, where we watched fish playing in the shallows, and a kingfisher looking for his dinner,we saw what we think was an otter but couldn't get close enough to be sure..Jordan and Chris had a lovely time going straight in to the play area, and only coming to the picnic table to be fed when hungry [ofter lol],and both of them as skinny as rakes too . We got photos of lots of the birds and some beutiful close ups of chaffinches reedwarblers ,tits and even a tree creeper. I don't think our Jordan will be too keen to go home,i'm afraid my son and his wife put on her far too much and she has never really known whay it's like to be a child,at home being the eldest she has to do far too much round the house ffrom looking after lewis and alayshia most of the time, and all her homework on top of that. When she comes here ,apart from makingher bed in the mornings ,cleaning her shoes and that sort of thing ,once she has done her homework she can do as she likes within reason,so the lass has a real holiday while she is here. The other lassie Sophie is the one we dread coming, but only because she isn't still for a moment,a real live wire and she wears us out lol. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend ,i'm off for a swan about the boards for a looksee ,but may get back on later if these two women will let me lol.Fred.

Hi all, So you remembered too Fred that it is Friday the 13th today. I did, but that was a challenge for me. I went to the market on my scooter and came home in one piece. When the shop assistant was sweeping up the sweets she was muttering something about the floor being clean enough to eat from. I wonder what did happen to those sweets!!!!!!!!! There is still a bit of a cold wind outside, but then living near the water, there is always a cold wind. Johan is at a meeting in the town hall about a parking place for us by the flat - invalide parking space. It seems difficult because these flats are privately owned. Enjoy your day everyone.
