Morning to all ,,nearly back to normal here in the north east ,back to normal after two lovely days of sunshine :-D,and now back to normal ,cool and perishing wet :-(,lol.
I did manage to get out back and get started with the planting in the reorganised veggie patch ,now that the new fence is up a windproof one :-),i got two runs of broad beans and french bean set away,leaving the run up the new fence left .
The new garden has only one row of buckets up the centre ,which will be used for calabrese ,which will keep us in heads and side shoots until November.
The greenhouse is well under way ,the calabrese seeds in ,and the tomato plants [4 sorts] now in their homes :-)and the spares ready to go into buckets to place in the borders for extra tomatoes .
All the herbs are up and away ,and the fruit trees are in bloom.apart from the Olive that will bloom a lot later,and the rhubarb is saying ,pick me foe a pie ,lol,or better still a crumble.
The new bannister is up ,and the painting finished in the hall and stairs ,and ,the new carpet is down :-D which is a brown twist pile that the ruddy cat will not be able to pull,it also a stain guard making it easier to keep clean.
All the off cuts from the underlay ,and carpets ,floor grippers and carpet joiners are in the back of ,and boot of the car ready to go to the recycle plant up the road,before we go out shopping.
Here's me Brenda ,starting to cool down with the thought that once the new bed ,and the new mattress for the guest room arrive on Monday arrive ,it's time to slow down ,and the wife drops the bombshell,she now wants the front room started ,prior to getting a new carpet laid in there as well :-( :-P,i need a holiday .
Anyway ,time to get on with the chores before we go out on the rounds ,so i will shove off and get on with things ,Fred.xxx

Morning all.we have a sunny but chilly morning here,have washing out and some more in the washer to put out later so at the moment i am a happy bunny,have a little bit of shopping to do when John gets back from golf.
I am out with some friends from the library to night.We will have a drink (non alcholic ) for me as I am driving,and a meal and a really good catch up chat.
David is on holiday this week so he is out the back doing some cleaning the pump on the ond and the grids at the side of the house.
Hope your work in the hall and the stair lift all go well Fred,and it all helps you and Liz .
We are still hoping to get our hall stairs and landing and our bedroom decorated sometime this year.Along with the new shed ,thast about all we can manage with booking the two hoildays.

Morning to all who look in today,from a coolish but sunny morning [so far ] he he.
We went out the day before yesterday Brenda ,to buy the new smaller gas B B Q,and paints for the hall and stairs ,which the eldest son ,and partner are going to see to for us.
Yesterday we went to the Gateshead retail park ,and went into Storeys carpets with the result that a fitter is coming out Friday morning to measure up ,and give us a Quote,which i think we will accept without contacting any other carpet companies,them being the one we have always dealt with [better the devil' ].
We have looked at twist piles which the fella said was as cat proof as any carpet can be,selected a new sort of underlay which is 100 per cent slip proof ,and are satisfied with the total price of both,so we now need the prices for the fitting of and the stair rods ,and carpet doorway grips ,to see just what the damage is ,so ,by the time the council comes to see to the lift ,all should be ready. :-).
While we were out ,the g p o tried to deliver the burger press [bugger] but the office is only a few hundred yards from the docs where we have to go this morning for the wife's tablets ,so we can pick the press up easily. ;-).
The garden is coming on well between the showers he he ,but anyway ,i have to take my time these days ,the old bones and joints start playing up very quickly if i try any heavy lifting ,this getting old isn't all it's cracked up to be :-(.
Not long now until you will be away on holiday Brenda ,i'm sure it will stay nice for you , catch you later ,Fred.xxx

Morning all,well ,we WERE going to take the car into Nissan to be checked out for a possible timing belt fault after a country wide recall ,but dear old Nissan boobed yet again ,lol,i decided i was well enough to take the car in myself after all.
I called Nissan Wednesday morning and cancelled the pickup call.saying i would take the car into the garage myself,but they screwed up yet again by sending someone out to take the car away despite us getting in touch ,huh i am beginning to think that Nissan only speak Japanese.
Anyway ,bang goes the morning visit to the daughters ,we can't go now because we don't know when the car will be coming back.
We have cancelled the trip to Liverpool Brenda ,we are not well enough yet to go to the town for the day in the cold and wet ,and don't fancy staying in a hotel room all day with nothing to do,and i may as well stay at home and do some of the odd jobs in the house and garden.
Taking the lawn feeder out of the car this morning i noticed that the tomato seeds have started to show in the trays ,so at least they should catch up despite the later than usual start,putting the seeds in to mini greenhouses has worked ,good enough,so i can possibly do the same with other seeds ,getting them away earlier too. :-).
I think i may very well now ,go out into the garden and get the lawn feed onto the front lawn before the threatened rain comes,the back lawn has already been treated .

Morning all ,yes Brenda ,hopefully we are still going to Liverpool next Weekend ,as long as Liz is over this virus ,which at last seems to be clearing.
way behind with the garden this year with the weather ,but i have been out back this morning and finished clearing the buckets out,taking out the canes and cleaning them down ,and starting the potato buckets . :-).
One barrel out front is ready to go again ,and i will turn the other one out next week ,and get that ready to go again .
I should still be able to do pretty well this year ,providing the weather behaves itself,but next year is still a long way away ,and it will depend a lot on the hip ,which is giving me a lot of bother now,this may well be my last season as regards the veggies ,i may have to do just my onion and leeks next year ,and that's it.
going to get on with the dinner now ,before i stiffen up too much and burn it all .

Really sorry you are both ill again,hope the antibiotics work for you.
John is not doing any veg this year as he is moving stuff about ready for getting the new shed.
Think that is on the back burner for a month or two,due to booking another holiday in september.We have only paid a deposit but have to pay the balance just as we get back from the one next month.
I tought about the rail card before as my friend lives in Lytham st annes and
we could see her nore often if it was cheaper for us on the train.

There are going to be some major road works near us for almost three months starting next Monday,its a main road to most of the places we go and the most direct so we and everyone else will be using two other roads that will cause a few problems.to say the least.
Better get on need to do some ironing,have been busy going to my sisters to look after her dog and trying to get used to my new phone !!

hi Brenda ,and maybe John who sometimes looks in.
Got that ruddy virus again Brenda for the 4th time ,but this time the missus has copped it as well,which leaves her much worse off than me ,sooooo ,been back to the docs ,and this time she has taken a sample to send to the lab to see just what virus is causing it,and a warning that if liz gets any worse during taking an anti bi that is specially for chest infections ,she is to be taken to the hospital.
At least i am still mobile ,sort of ,and have got my six potato sacks ready for planting ,and now await my Charlotte potatoes to start chitting.
Yeah ,still just over freezing point here during the day 2 to 3 c ,and well below freezing at night ,lol,we even got a few flakes of snow yesterday.
If you intend travelling a lot by rail Brenda ,go for your rail card for your retirement,it will get you first class to London ,return for £30 ,you can use the card as often as you like ,and in some cases it's as cheap as the long distance coach ,and twice as comfortable,first class at that.
Not much else to report today ,still sniffling ,and coughing a lot .but you are safe enough ,lol,the virus can't go from puter to computer ,not this one anyway :-).
Got everything ,just about ,to get out into the garden again just compost needed,so i needs sun ,where is it ,he he ,not fair ,it's now bloody raining outside ,grrrrrrrr. :-(, Fred.
Oh well ,fish and chips for dinner :-D that's something anyway .xxx

Hi Brenda ,me ditto ,lol, been away most of Easter at rellies pads being offered dinners ,teas and whatever but have decided to spend today at home ,amongst other things ,the cat it getting a bit hyper with us out most of the time since Friday lol little mite must be getting lonely .
Having a small lunch today which i will see to in a minute ,followed by a nice ,red curry for tea ,he he ,need something warm in this weather.

We did get to Bury and hada good few hours did not buy mutch ,
but had a nice lunch.It was not that busy ,think the cold kept people

Afternoon Fred and anyone else looking in.
Well its a might cold here today but we do have sunshine which makes it look warmer outside anyway..Been doing some more decluttering of the kitchen cupboards and have a few more things which we hardly ever use to go to the charity shop and some tupperware lids with no boxes or bowls which have gone in the bin.
Having a go at getting rid of some of the tins and packets in the store cupboard its amazing what I have stored away and not used !!! Have to be more careful when doing my shopping lists.
Hopefully off to Bury Market with my mate on Wednesday ,she lives over Stockp[ort way and usuallyworks Wednesday but changed her hours a few weeks ago ,so we will be going more often together now.Hope the weather stays dry at least.
You are as busy as ever Fred and always make me feel a bit lazy.which I can be when my leg is not good.Up to now the injection has worked a little bit ,so lets see for how long this time.
