Hi all, Yes, I am still alive and kicking. Thinking of suing the hospital for a large sum for this lump of metal inside of me. Only joking, we can all make mistakes! I phoned the hospital and they have found me an earlier appointment than that I could find on the internet. Today I went and had my blood pricked and gave another sample of urine ready for diabetes control next week. I seem to be constantly busy with myself and can think of nothing else than doctors appointments etc.etc. Oh how I long to do my genealogy again, but cannot settle. At least I have started some cross stitch work. I do read all your threads, but forget to mention them, sorry. Miss Jude, where are you and Madoc and fat cat? Sylvia xxx

G'day Bill, always nice to hear from you ,and get news of your travels in that fair country, and you are certainly getting around [has visions of Fred chasing Bill down the road in the new car and trailer caravan [sigh] hee hee, well ,one can dream you know],and ,in the meantime ,i can do a bit of charging about over here instead lol The garden is coming on fine with most of the veggie plants being ready to pot on into cups ,so i will be starting to plant out in three weeks, including the tatties in the bins ready for Christmas .[about seven months to go ,you lot hee hee] It's very windy here today [again] sao i can't open the caravan to work on [sulks] so i will go through to the sons as planned and rescue those bluebell bulbs i was on about ,they will go very nicely with the others next year. My missus spotted some lovely carpet roses in the book yesterday and is going to order me some, they only grow three inches or so high, but spread quickly and deter cats who seemingly get caught up in the thorns of which there are plenty, also coming in three main colours ,so they should look nice I seem to be over the worst of this cold now ,but i am lucky and seem to throw them off after a few days, but poor old Liz is still barking and snuffling well, but okay apart from that. Looks as though stephen has a new temporary pad, just opposite the house ,at the back of the shops ,which the owner said he could rent for as long as it takes to get set up with the council house which he is looking for This also means that the kids won't be disturbed during their sats, which is a bonus for them ,more so being as they are doing so well at school. Have to go now ,time to treat the missus to a bite of breakfast,my turn today [again ] lol. Catch you all later.Fred. .

Well Johan and I went to the wholesalers today and that leaves me feeling exhausted. It is so large that I must have walked kilometers. Anyway got nicely stocked up again. 3 kilos fresh salmon, 1 kilo plaice fillets, as well as tea, coffee, biscuits. Am undecided whether or not to make a cake as it is Mothers Day here on Sunday, but I don't have so much time. Tomorrow I have to pop out to the market and in the afternoon having a permanent. We've been invited out Saturday afternoon for coffee etc. We had lovely sunny weather all day, in fact really hot, but now it is raining. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

John Report 11 May 2007 05:12

Hi everyone Almost a month has gone by since I was last on GR. The weather to date has been relatively nice and that won't last much longer as there will be more wet and colder days ahead. The mountain was covered in snow a few weeks ago but with the rain that has gone. About two weeks ago we travelled to Stratford which is on the other side of the mountain for some meetings and we noticed the peak was quite bare. Our new great-niece, Morgan, was christened last Sunday and we had a finger lunch at her parent's home. After lunch my Mum came and stayed for a few days. Then this morning our son, Craig, arrived to surprise his Mum for Mother's Day and will be with us until Sunday afternoon when he will go home to Auckland. As neither Gayle or I drive it was a privilege to have Craig drive us around as we went for lunch and did shopping. John in NZ

Morning everone, just a few lines to say i havn't forgotten you all, just that i have a lot on at the moment what with the garden and plants needing put out ,and seedlings wanting potting on. Tons to do round the house too,and work on the family tree ,but almost there for now thank goodness. I was at the sons yesterday ,to find that Mia had broken her back leg while out on exercise so spent most of the afternoon instead of helping pack, sitting on the sofa with this great soft rott' on my lap, getting licked to death every time i tried to move lol,boy ,did she go into a strop when it was time to come home he hee,she went into a right sulk when i made her get down, and wouldn't come out to say good by but stayed with a soulful look under the table. The caravan will be put to use again on the next long weekend when we are going back up to the same caravan park in scotland where we were a few weeks agoso this time i will be taking the cam corder to take some footage of the daughter and bairns ,as she is up there at the same time giving the fids a break. Liz and i thought it would be a good ideamseeing as all the children could play together while we all watched them, giving her a chance to relax ,because John ,the hubby will bog off fishing and leave it all to her ,as usual,a typical northern lad is John, won't do a bat round the house ,or gardenand thinks he has done enough working eight hours a day. Teeresa lands up working night shift, coming home in the mornings to start the housework ,do the washing and looking after the kids. I'm afraid i have called him a waste of space more than once, and don't think he rates as a husband very much at all,but ,at the end of the day ,it's her choice, but if it comes to the best ,and she comes to her senses and boots him out ,i have already said i would help with her morgage so that she won't loose the house. Well ,i am off to do some work, have a nice weekend all of you B B q in the offing here if anyone is in the area lol.Fred.

Well we have Mothers Day here in the Netherlands tomorrow and my ex son in law has been around with a beautiful bunch of yellow flowers, sunflowers, chrysants, roses, etc.etc. I also had a nice card from my help in the house which read 'You are not really my mother, but have a special place in my heart for you'. I was really touched by this. Two people not family thinking of me on Mothers Day. Will see my own children tomorrow. Will keep this short, have a nice Sunday. Sylvia xxx

badger Report 14 May 2007 08:57

morning troops ,was your weekend okay? we did have a busy one ,but did well yesterday by donning wet gear and getting out into the garden to put a load of the veggie stuff in.I worked outside ,whilst Liz went into the greenhouse to see to the tomatoes and cucumber plants. I had got halfway through putting the corn out when the heavens opened again, but i though ,they need to go out now ,and i'm already wet ,so i just put my head down and carried on.lol. By the time i had the broad bean plants in ,i sort of looked sideways to see if Rattie ,Mole ,and Badger ,were sailing by on their little boat laughing themselves silly to see a human creature enjoying himself and growling to the world [which ,they would think was singing] yeah right . Anyway,it's done now and even the two windmills are out again to scare the pigeons off, this does seem to work if you move them every few days so that they don't get usesd to them and so ignore them. The potatoes will have to wait till it dries out a little and so will the hedge ,the hedge because allthough all my garden gear is protected by cut outs ,the initial shock of water in the motor would not do my centre parting any good ,hee hee. Liz has put all the tomatoe plants into their growing positions ,and ditto with the cucumbers and has also put ,peppers and beetroot to start growing ,into the plastic cups that we use a lot for tansplanting into the garden and greenhouse, and has put a load of flower seeds in for both gardens ,so ,apart from housework ,we can relax for a couple of weeks and dream of Friday ,when we will have hot water and radiators again . Hope everyone is fine and dandy, see ya' Later.Fred.

Today a mixture of sunshine and showers, but on the whole not too bad. I cleaned two kilos of white asparagus and froze it in. I made soup with the shavings from the asparagus and the bits cut from the ends. The soup was delicious and we had this for our lunch together with my homemade bread. I also pressed two litres oranges as I love fresh orange juice. I ran two washing machines and tidied the kitchen a bit. Johan was busy in the bathroom doing some alterations so I had to clean up after him, but I still had some time over for my cross stitch this afternoon. Oh, yes, I watched the video of the Eurovision Song Contest. Oh, what a lot of rubbish. Johan cannot understand why I watch it, but my reply is that I can at least give my opinion having seen and heard it. Have a nice evening everybody. Congratulations Jude on becoming grandma.
