Hi all, Well all of you talking about weight. I have lost 11 kilos (1 kilo is 2.2 lbs) without doing anything for it. Well, nothing, did have a tumour taken away! It is a good thing that I have enough to lose. Have some more tests this week and am wondering what they are going to come up with next. Well I will enjoy myself in the meantime. Next Sunday Johan and I are going to Eindhoven to stay in our daughter's house whilst she is in Turkey. We can get into Belgium and Germany very easily and visit Johan's sick sister nearby. You may be wondering why I have taken so long to come on here. Well computer problems. Couldn't get printer to work, then Johan bought new printer, no not printer, printer back to shop and finally got help in as so many things started to go wrong. I couldn't even type in the end. My trusty help in the household told me that her husband was a computer hobbyist and they would come round on the Saturday. Well they did and in a mum of a second everything was fixed. In fact, I have more than I ever had now. He is going to come round again later in the year to help me with my digital camera. I had this camera for my birthday in January and it is still in its box! Well, did have other things on my mind too. It is a while since I used my new sewing machine and tried to do just that yesterday but having difficulty in threading it up. Must get the CD out and see how it works again - all takes time that is the trouble! Have almost finished the small towel which I am cross stitching for my daughter. It is an alphabet of cats. My daughter is cat crazy. She doesn't know I have been doing it, but will try and finish it for her birthday. Well everybody, have a nice Sunday further. Sylvia xxx

Morning all,and well done Sylvia, and i thought i haddone well losing one kilo in six weeks [sigh, back to the drawing board] lol. We had a great weekend ,finishing off with a family get together at the coast, which ,mind was a little on the cool side owing to a sea fret stopping the sun showing through untilone oclock. No matter ,there was much exploring the rock pools by the kids AND some of the grown ups [ehem, clears throat and looks all innocent],i did get some photos of the goings on ,and even managed to get one of me ,in among the family gathering so i will post that later on. Can't hanf round long this morning as we are off to the sons today to have a go in the front room of his new house, painting and papering.. Having got up early to do the hedge before going out ,it looks like a splash ,so i will now ,go and do my brekkie instead. Hope everyone has had a good weekend.Fred.

Well was up with the lark this morning as I didn't sleep very well. Unusual for me as I don't have a sleep problem. Managed to get lots of chores done, including cleaning the fridge. My daughter phoned and said she will be coming here on Wednesday. This is the daughter whose house we will be going in on Sunday next. The weather has been lovely although a cold wind. The weather outlook is fine so maybe time to get out my chair for a sit on the balcony. Tomorrow going to see the doctor about one or two things which I am not happy about. I hope then to do a bit of shopping. My plants on the balcony, including herbs and tomato plant are doing exceptionally well. Looking forward to seeing the small red cherry tomatoes. It is now flowering. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Morning all,up early this morning as i have loads of work to do when i have finished here. Things like trimming the front lawn and border edges, watering the greenhouse, loading the photos off the sons camera [from Berwick] onto the puter .AND,starting to clean the caravan which the son delivered to the drive last night. It's a belter ,not too old ,clean with oodles of cupboard space ,a toilet wash basin and shaver point mirror all in the same compartment. A small galley with sink ,hot and cold water, cooker, plus a space for a lightweight microwave ,a toaster, table ,and four bunks, and a fire which runs on gas ,or electric,oh,i nearly forgot ,a built in fridge that works on gas ,12 volt,or 240 volt [your choice.] The new car will tow it easily, because the all up weight is only 840 kilos, and the car will pull 945 with no bother.it does need a good clean down which the missus and i will start later on ,but is nice and tidy inside and out.It has Double glazing too which means it can be used well into the autumn,a bonus up north hee hee. Sooooo,Mary ,if when you come over and there is no room in the greenhouse or the main house ,you will be as snug as a bug in a rug ,and we can even tow you around to see the sights. My sons reflexes came to the rescue whilst we were in Berwick last week, there we werre walking up the high street towards the butchers to pick up the sons haggis when i heard some kids shouting look mum,a red bus. We looked up ,and there coming towards us was a London double decker bus ,in all it's glory, and the lad got a beutiful photo of it grrrrr, but it's okay,he gave me the card out of his camera to load onto my computer. Off out now to do those lawn edges ,but i will be back later, have a nice day all ,Fred.

Hi all, What beautiful weather we are having. Had a doctor's appointment this morning and when that was finished got my scootmobile out and went into the shopping centre. It's always nice to scoot round the harbour with weather like this and see all the boats there. Tomorrow my daughter is coming for a while and also my help in the house. I suppose I ought to put some things into a case for taking away on Sunday as I have several doctor's appointments on Thursday and Friday and Saturday we have a get-together of all the flat residents here - a drink and a nibble so they say! Enjoy the good weather. Can I come and sleep in your caravan Fred? Do you supply meals too? Sylvia xxx

Hi, Oh not me again, had a messy day today. My daughter and help both arrived and I couldn't get on with doing anything. I had had trouble with my sewing machine and my help sorted it out for me. My daughter has given me the key of her house in Eindhoven, so we are all ready.

Hallo, Well we are having fantastic weather but I have no time at the moment to enjoy it. Today I went to the skin specialist and he looked me over for any further skin cancer, but couldn't find any. I showed him a nasty lump with lots of crusts on my leg. I have showed it to him before and he wouldn't do anything about it. He called in a colleague of his and they will now bandage the leg up to see if this will help. They are frightened if they cut this growth out my leg won't heal again. I also have a lot of fluid in my legs. It is the leg where I have had thrombosis. They wanted me to go back next Monday but I said I was going away for a few days so can go back on Monday week. Tomorrow I have a very busy day at the hospital. First to see my surgeon and ask what is in my stomach - a needle left after the operation? In the afternoon I have to have an echo of my lower stomach, bladder etc. It will be a busy day and am not looking forward to it at all. Saturday we have a get together with the other flat dwellers here for a drink and titbits and to get to know one another. Then Sunday we are off to Eindhoven to stay in my daughter's house. I must sort some things out Saturday morning to take with us. Now will not write again until after I come back, Sylvia xxx

Morning everyone, sorry to be missing for a couple of days ,but fred has been busy with his new toy lol, well,it's up and running, everything working well and raring to go. Of course you can stay in it Sylvia, you can join the rest of them ,including Mary J.a nd mr D ,V P,Edith and Frisky, the more the merrier, and yes .i can supply meals if wished, The B B Q is only through the back garden gate and on to the patio, and the van has full cooking facilities including a sink,[you do your own washing up] lol.cooker ,oven ,grill, and fridge . We have however lousy weather at the minute ,dull and misty for two weeks now ,so ,if we go away in the van at the moment we will be needing the gas heater that's on board. Well designed is this heater, with a heat exchanger so that all the moisture from the burning gas is pumped out through the chimney ,so no damp building up inside the van like most of them. Such a good design that when this van is scrapped and i go for another ,i will be taking it out for the next one. I won't be online Monday next ,because ,myself,Liz and Martin will be in linc's for my sisters funeral and cremation, and my guess was correct ,in that she wishes her ashes scattered in the paddock outside the lounge window of the bungalow, which is where she spent hours watching her horses and the wild life over the winter and spring ,so i know she will be happy with that. Oh S** it ,we have to do a bit of shopping now ,and it's decided to piddle down hee hee, about right i suppose lol. See ya later peoples ,have a good day.Fred.

goodmorning one and all well yesterday we had a fantastic rain storm lasting about two ours plus tornado warnings where I live was hit hard by a tornado in the 80's but thankfully it was only a warning, the temperature was 31 degree's and the humidity was about 36 making the temperature over a 100 at one point , the power was off in parts of the area but we were allright. this morning it is a beautiful morning I have just had breakfast and am getting ready to watch the ladies final at 9am our time. fred how nice that yur sisters wishes are being honoured so well won't be an easy day for you. brenda hope you have a nice visit with your mother in law. just found out that the lawa in england covering common law marriages are not great, a relative of mine her daughter in a common-law marriage for over 9yrs has just had the whole thing fall apart, and the lawyers say she is entitled to nothing. she paid half of everything over the 9yrs plus she did not want to leave her whatever you call him is just hitting 50 and she is 31 maybe a case of male menopause, over here they would have to split everything 50-50 as after 18months it is considered a legal marriage situation involveing the splitting of pensions etc. I feel quite bad for her especially since she is still in love with him. I am glad I am not young anymore. well off to the tennis bye for now dorothy
