can anyone tell me how to find out whenand why my grandfather got the MBE? I don't know when it was awarded to Thomas Frederick Moore apart from it was unable to be presented by King George either due to the war or the King's illness. I tried the London Gazette but couldb't find it. Any ideas? Thanks |

I think he received a O.B.E. Issue 38311 4th June 1948, page 17 Thomas Frederick MOORE, Esq., Superintendent, Mercantile Marine Office Stores, Ministry of Transport. Keith |

Keith, I am so, so sorry that I didn't thank you for finding this for me before. Somehow I overlooked it in the excitement of updating my records. |
