Good morning :-) Wendy has pm'd me suggesting 1:50pm for the handover. It will have to be a quick one because she's got to get back for the little one. I've pm'd her back to confirm that time so I'll be meeting GB at 1:50pm on July 5th. Looking forward to it. Now I have GB for a week and on the Saturday is the Chester meet so I'm now looking for some advice. Should GB go to the Chester meet and meet some of the members she wouldn't have otherwise or as she has just come from Chester would it be too much. I have to go out soon so will check back later, thank you in advance.

GB in WIRRAL GB has been dressed as a princess this morning by Christopher so shes said she can't possibly help me with the housework this morning. She is sitting regally with her crown having a snooze in the garden as I slave away (!!). We all overslept this morning ~no husband here last night or perhaps due to the vanishing wine. I'd left GB watching Harry Potter upstairs I thought , it definately wasn't me or Pugwash the cat (aged 18 and recovering from an operation). Hopefully GB will have recovered by this evening when she is going to walk with the Guides to Hilbre Island. Teresa

Hi Julie. I cannot see any reason why GB can't go to the Chester Meet. She is not due to be handed over till the Wednesday after the meet. It would be nice if there are some members going who haven't had the chance to see GB. Does she need an invite by the way? Jenny xx

GB in WIRRAL A very tired GB and Hannah are still fast asleep having gone on a walk to Hilbre Islands with the Girl Guides last night. The walk was 4 miles enough to exhaust a little girl carrying a pink bear! Hannah will update you when she wakes up in a couple of hours!!!! Hilbre Islands are 'The three tidal islands lying at the mouth of the Dee Estuary, Little Eye, Middle Eye and Hilbre, which been designated a Local Nature Reserve. The Islands are cut off from the mainland by the tide for up to four hours out of every twelve.' Mommylonglegs Report 2 Jul 2006 12:14

I did speak to Jess on the telephone yesturday after her post on this thread. Under the circumstances I did not feel able to post anything to do with the GB Relay yesturday. I did intend to leave it until the weekend was over. As you all know June was a much loved member of GR. She was also a very dedicated member of the Gaynor Bear Relay and has always supported me from the very begining fifteen months ago. June had patiently waited all this time to have her turn as a Co-ordinator of Group 15. She was one of the many Co-ordinators that took her roll in the GB Relay very seriously and was so looking forward to playing her part. I met June and her Daughter Gaynor, at my very first GR meet up in Wakefield over two years ago. The first thing I noticed was June's beautiful 'twinkling eyes' and have still mentioned this to June over the past couple of years. As the Relay was in June's group, I have had even more contact with her via msn, GR messages and private emails. We had numerous telephone calls over the last two weeks, some well over an hour, the last being on Thursday. Obviously we didnt just talk about the GB Relay. I shall miss June as I am sure we all will. She was a lovely Lady. But I am sure June would have liked us all to carry on with her agenda for her group. So I think at the moment we will carry on with all Junes plans up until GB was to be passed to Gaynor and John. By this time we may know how Gaynor is feeling. June and I had a few little surprises for the relay when I was to have GB from her hopefully at the end of this month. Me and Hubby were to meet her and stay at a hotel overnight nearby. We also had a little secret for the Cheshire meet up. I am sure June would want us to carry on with the relay as planned. Ok there may be a few little alterations. I will get back to you all tomoorrow. Take Care everyone. Jenny. xx

GB in WIRRAL On Saturday GB went to Hoylake to see how far she and Hannah had walked on Friday night to Hilbre Island with the Girl Guides and to see the Golf course where the 2006 Open Championship will be held but we didn't see any famous golfers. She then showed her collection of clothes to the other bears and they treated her with Hannahs help to a teddy bears picnic in the garden. She spent the rest of the afternoon and evening watching the football and tennis and then went to bed with Hannah. On Sunday she went with Hannah and her twin brother Christopher to see some of the “people” that were ready for the Flowerpot Festival at Port Sunlight Village. She had great fun picking strawberries ~ see the photos on MSN for the mess she got into and she’d had lunch so she wasn’t THAT hungry!! In the afternoon she went for a walk up Thurstaston Hill where you can see views across the whole of the Wirral peninsula and on a clear day to Hilbre Island, the North Wales coast, Snowdonia, the River Dee, Liverpool Bay, the River Mersey, the two cathedrals in Liverpool and Blackpool Tower. Monday 3rd July Today sadly for us GB will have to pack her bags as she will be moving on to Wallasey to stay with Wendy until Wednesday when she crosses The Mersey to Liverpool and onto Lancashire. GB was very sad not to have been able to fit in a visit to Birkenhead Library where she tells me that there is a display by that young talented local author Daniel Longman introducing his new local history book - Criminal Wirral!! She even had one of her smart dresses all ready to wear!! I post this update sadly knowing that there will be no encouraging words this time from June in Preston our group co-ordinator who is no longer with us and is sadly missed. Teresa
