Theme for last week: Abide / Dwell / Live SUNDAY: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, 'My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.' Psalm 91 v 1 - 2 Revised Standard Version MONDAY: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. John 15 v 4 TUESDAY: Your (God's) faithfulness is from generation to generation; You have established the earth and it abides - stands fast. Psalm 119 v 90 Amplified. WEDNESDAY: But you have received the Holy Spirit and he lives within you, in your hearts, so that you don't need anyone to teach you what is right. For he teaches you all things and he is the Truth, and no liar; and so, just as he has said, you must live in Christ, never to depart from him. 1John 2 v 27 Living Bible THURSDAY: You are controlled by your new nature if you have the Spirit of God living in you........ yet even though Christ lives within you, your body will die because of sin; but your spirit will live..... And if the Spirit of God, who raised up Jesus from the dead, lives in you, he will make your dying bodies live again after you die, by means of this same Holy Spirit living in you. Romans 8 v 9 - 11 FRIDAY: In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4 v 8 SATURDAY: Whoever obeys God's commands lives in union with God and God lives in union with them. And because of the Spirit that God has given us we know that God lives in union with us. 1 John 3 v 24 Good News Bible

First posting updated for today - Monday. Blessings for your new year :) Vonny Matthew Ch. 2 v 1 - 12 The coming of the wise men. Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship Him.' When Herod the King heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he enquired of them where the Christ was to be born. They told him, 'In Bethlehem of Judea; for so it is written by the prophet: And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who shall govern my people Israel.' Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star appeared; and he sent them to Bethlehem saying, 'Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.' When they had heard the king they went their way; and lo, the star that they had seen in the East went before them, till it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. Entering the house where the baby and Mary his mother were, they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh. And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way. _______________________________________

Luke 2 cont. V 15 - 20 When the great army of angels had returned again to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, 'Come on, let's go to Bethlehem! Let's see this wonderful thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about. They ran to the village and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and there was the baby, lying in the manger. The shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard their story expressed astonishment, but Mary quietly treasured these things in her heart and often thought about them. Then the shepherds went back again to their fields and flocks, praising God for the visit of the angels, and because they had seen the child, just as the angels had told them.

Luke 2 v 8 - 14 That night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly an angel appeared among them, and the landscape shone bright with the glory of the Lord. They were badly frightened but the angel reassured them. 'Don't be afraid!' he said. 'I bring you the most joyful news ever announced, and it is for everyone! The Saviour - yes, the Messiah, the Lord - has been born tonight in Bethlehem! How will you recognise him? You will find a baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others -the armies of heaven - praising God: 'Glory to God in the highest heaven,' they sang, 'and peace on earth for all those pleasing him.' Living Bible
