Loved your rhyme Elaine, interesting to know that your walk was action packed so More you must add one day soon the simple joys of nature are a boon Now the Spring will soon be here so many things to bring us cheer ''Oh to be in England now that April's here'' it was Browning I think who spoke of his country dear Pensively he wished for his home; in Italy he pined for green grass and tea with honey Quite why he went there, you may wonder for love of dear Elizabeth who hated thunder Real love was his motive, under the hot sun he wanted to be in Grantchester, with his son So he stayed in the burning heat his commitment to her he did meet To learn of such deep love is good to know sighing, and smiling, it brings a heartwarming glow

Camcorder. Had an urge to do this Sunday after along walk with the dogs. When I set out my feet are light, I float along the ground. Eyes sharpened to the slightest move, my ears take in the sound. I stop and catch the subjects I find along the way. Two horses pass, catch sight and sound of roan and of bay. A robin singing in the birch, with catkins tumbling tail. Collect his song, his rosy breast, his undercarriage pale. A bullfinch feeds on early bud, a charm of goldfinch fly. The kestrel hangs upon the wind, behind him blue, blue sky. The call of geese, the skein I see top tippling to the lake. Where swan and coot and mallard wait for offerings of cake. Two lads with mud spattered mountain bikes, call greetings as they peddle. Uphill then down again not missing any puddle. I turn for home, my footsteps slow, why do my feet feel lead. My morning's haul is heavier with every step I tread. Two horses with clip clopping feet, a robin and his trill. Bullfinch, goldfinch, kestrel, sky all these and more to fill. This tiny box hung round my neck, with mountan bikes and boys. With lakes and geese and swans and trees; yes all my mornings joys.
