Knobs and knockers! - well it starts the rhyme! Khartoum and knickers - are not so fine! Letting my hair down just for fun think it must be lack of sun! Methinks warm sunny weather would be so good When I went shopping had to wear a hood Now it's stopped snowing, just wet and grey looking forward to a nice summers day Oh, for to sit in the garden I think with a good book and a little drink Pleased to welcome Helen from Holland who's now come to join our happy band

Everyone suddenly has appeared to add rhymes on here for us to read Funny how we suddenly collide when typing but nevertheless one shouldn't stop writing

Every day it’s cold and dreary Oh it makes my old bones weary First of spring must soon be here Then you’ll hear a great big cheer Golden sunshine, nice long days Sipping cocktails in a purple haze Happy people all around me Making jokes that will astound me I wonder what will summer bring? Will the birdies start to sing? Just think of paddling by the sea (That’s where I would like to be) Kicking my shoes off to have a paddle (maybe doing the doggy paddle!!) Lazing about on a golden beach Being fed slices of nice ripe peach Maybe a hunk to pour my drinks (wishful thinking on that, me thinks) Nice warm days, with lots of sun Playing games and having fun Only one problem I can see Who will cook the old man’s tea? Pleasant thoughts of warmer days Skies of blue and sun a blaze Quite a lot I have now written Think I must be really smitten Really do hope you’re all well Pop in here, your news to tell Soon the weekend will be here Off to college for me, I fear The topic for the day I see Is religious diversity Unsure what that’s all about I’ll know tomorrow, without a doubt Very soon I’ll be back to Zed (that letter gives me a pain in the head) We all dislike it that’s for sure It really does become a chore Xtremely cold I am still feeling So turn on the heater in the ceiling!! Yes I know that sounds quite odd But then I am a rather odd bod Zapped the last letter so back to A Come on folks and have your say

As I sit here before my screen I think of how things could have been But who knows what life would have brought (it could have been worse, just a thought) Came last at school, that’s for sure Was once a dunce, but not no more Didn’t have siblings to share my toys Or to talk to of life’s woes and joys Even as I sit here feeling glum I know who to blame, it was my Mum Friends have said she was so cold If only her secrets she had told Getting morbid, sorry folks Has anyone got any jokes? Had better go and start some tea Will come back later you all to see

DorothyG Report 24 Feb 2006 17:26

I haven't any jokes to tell But Dee, you've obviously done well! Just count your blessings, so they say Each morning is another new day Knocked me back that you're so down come on now Dee, lose that frown Life's a gamble, that's what I reckon lots of chances always beckon My Mum was like yours sadly anything we said, she took badly Nothing for it I decided when young so left home at 18 and begun On making my own way in life fought my own corner and battles and strife Pleased to say that now I'm here many years later and full of good cheer Questions many I've had during those years why Mum was so bitter, and full of tears Research I have done into what happened But nothing I've found at all explained So just sad, she wasted her life in that way But hey - come on! It's another new day! Tuck those memories way down deep an appointment with destiny we must keep! Ups and downs are part of living so cheer up Dee - be happy and giving Very pleased I am you started this thread so be proud of yourself - hold up your head!

Urgently need to bury these thoughts Dorothy They are not good to dwell on, that I see Very wise words that you do say I’m glad you see things my way Well who knows what the future will bring Let’s just hope it will soon be spring Xtra hugs all round, for one and all Then let’s all go out and have a ball
