Christine, sad but true many child stars have gone down the path of drugs and alcohol - Tatum O'Neal, Macaulay Culkin, etc... even Elizabeth Taylor,

PennyDainty

PennyDainty Report 1 Feb 2005 01:24

Yeah don't think even for all their money that I'd ever let my kids go down the childhood stars route. Even young soap stars, go the same way.

Oh John I have a question for you not film but telly related Last night I saw one of your fellow Kiwi 's who used to play an australian every night on our tv but is now playing an American on a very popular TV show. Can you name him?

John

John Report 1 Feb 2005 01:27

Whilst we are grumbling along - can anyone name the boy who is now a well respected director/producer. Clues - lets see?

Pat

Pat Report 1 Feb 2005 01:28

No don't think so, I was sitting her trying to think of one child star that weren't affected by the stardom at a young age, and I can't think of a sane one, unless you count Roddy McDowell who was the most adapted, but he was older than a lot of others. Not worth it, I hate the affects on children.

It was indeed Christine, one of the level head child-stars and I dare say his actor parents ensured that he and his brother Clint didn't stray.

Yep Pat look at poor Lena Zavaroni...effected her in a different way. What about Shirley Temple , she did ok didn't she. Went on to be an abassador or something didn't she?
