Yes Dorothy! This Olivier film has got me stumped. I remember him in Khartoum and in the Brideshead Revisited TV series and as Hamlet

John

John Report 26 Jan 2005 22:38

We have the DVD of Brassed Off - it's one of my wife's favourite films. She loves brass bands her Dad and uncles once played in the Sallies band.

ok John I get easy confused thats probably why I go around in circles so much.

John

John Report 26 Jan 2005 22:35

Okay - I was a bit mean but I thought you may have seen these English features - Johnny Grimble was about a boy desire to be a soccer play - he was given some so-called magic boots that weren't what happens I won't say. Brassed Off about redundant coal miners and a brass band - their conductors wish to enter a competition in London what happens you will need see. Must admit I haven't seen the other two but have read about them. Billy Elliot was meant to have been included as a guessing one but was forgotten. Sorry for the confusion.

Well Dorothy all I can say is well done. YOUR TURN I think???

John

John Report 26 Jan 2005 22:29

Dorothy you are right they want to achieve something. I will give a huge clue for Brassed Off - starred Ewan McGregor, Pete Postlethwaite as the conductor! The actual star was the Grimethorpe Colliery .........

Pat

Pat Report 26 Jan 2005 22:25

I still don't know anything about the films sorry

John

John Report 26 Jan 2005 22:22

Tennis is the answer - the film's actual title I thought it was Wimbleton but it is about tennis. Continuing the feel good type films like Billy Elliot, Full Monty overcoming adversity. These other films - Brassed Off about sacked coal miners and some type of instruments. Johnny Grimble has some so-called magic boots for this game.

Pat

Pat Report 26 Jan 2005 22:21

JOhn its Wimbledon you mean its Tennis

John

John Report 26 Jan 2005 22:19

Wimbleton - its a place for something famous what? Brassed Off - involves instruments Johnny Grimble - a ball of sorts

Pat

Pat Report 26 Jan 2005 22:18
