PinkDiana Report 21 Sep 2004 09:06

Fundraising started cos I walked the Great Wall of China in March 2005 and thanks to you all you wonderful people for your support!!!! Gaynor was diagnosed with terminal cancer and she and I decided to create The Pink Fund........... We hit the £10,000 target that the mad woman wanted (the target initially was £3000) but we decided that wasn't enough!! So we kept going and have raised 5 times that amount now!! There were the intrepid 15 that went to the Sahara and the wonderful Jenny who has organised for our very own GB to relay round the UK, so anyone wanting to support Cancer Research UK please contact me directly! Jan has created http://groups.msn(.)com/pinkspages which will now be the place that all PINK events and updates will be added, If you want to raise funds on behalf of the Pink fund then please feel free to contact me.

Very worthwhile cause & will be glad to sponsor you if you let me know the web address. You might be better off e-mailing people direct with it when they offer to donate, as threads can often get lost etc. Wish I'd thought of the idea of a sponsorship website as my hubby is doing 400km on a mountain bike across The Canadian Rockies as we do but speak, in aid of Scope. He's thoroughly enjoying it, even though the higher altitude was something he hadn't bargained for & it is making the going tougher. Best wishes Helen

PinkDiana Report 21 Sep 2004 16:13

Lisa..... bless you.... I think I am doing this for a number of reasons..... 1. Obviously a worthwhile charity and people we know maybe can't benefit now but hopefully others will one day!! 2. It gives me something to concentrate on instead of wallowing in self pity! 3. I have always wanted to go to China, so killing 2 birds with one stone!! 4. I need to get fit and gorgeous for when Husband no. 2 appears and sweeps me off my feet!! ;O) Love and hugs to you. d
