Hi Diana, I will go on your website & donate in a minute. I have done some voluntary work for CRUK in the past and know what vital work they do. I have also visited the Great Wall twice, when on holiday in China. I only walked a couple of miles, but it killed me! It is REALLY hard going! I envy you going to China as it is fantastic there, but not the walk! Good luck, I hope you raise thousands for a really good cause. Also I'd like to wish all the best to Gaynor, I know you read this thread too. Carole

People keep telling just what a challenge i have taken.... I must admit I didn't expect it to be a walk in the park but maybe it'll be tougher than even I anticipated.... I am fortunate enough though to have some great training partners lined up and with the support you lot are giving me.... I will do this!! Diana

Just go easy of the old vino, can't have you staggering along the Great Wall! ;-) Carole

PinkDiana Report 26 Sep 2004 19:38

Carole.... how do you think I'm gonna be stupid enough to do it with the vino? It's all part of my training programme.... walk for a while and that's rewarded by a glass or 6 of red wine!! :O) Then stagger home.... takes longer on the way home but at least i'll get used to walking on wobbly ground!! Hi Diana, I have just been on and donated, such a good cause, I was supposed to of got married on 14/02/00, but the wedding had to be posponed as my father in law to be was taken ill just after xmas, he passed away on 14/02/00, so we got married the next year in memory of him, he always used to ask us when we were going to get married and we always used to say 14 Feb, but never what year! Diana - (noted your responses elsewhere, thank you) - I don't know the story re: Gaynor, but will visit site. My sister Jenny had cancer for 21 years! Very sorry about Zimmi (is it?) - to top everything, we lost our 11-year old Great Dane Rocky last week... Cathy ~

Cathy..... thank you sweetheart.... I can not imagine the pain people go through with this evil disease and I hope never to be able to imagine it.... it's not just the person that is affected but all those around them too... I am doing this as it's my way of helping others and it's helping me focus on something different than what is happening in my life right now!! Jackie..... your are one lucky lady to have a mother like you do.... but then I am sure you know that already!! :O) Thanks to everyone that has supported me both through donations and through the chats that we have had.... I don't know how I would have survived the last month without you!
