Looking for the PAINTING family

I can trace my line back to Thomas Painting a Master Carpenter from Chipping Norton in the 1700s. But I owould like to know a few more details about the individuals in my family. My grandfather was Raymond James Newell Painting decended from Ruth Painting (his grandmother) and someone from the Newell family living in Oxfordshire. They had one son out of wedlock who kept the Painting surname (William) but all his brothers and sisters were Newell's after the marriage of Ruth and her Newell husband. Does this ring any bells in peoples family tree? If so I would love to hear from you.
