Thank you very much.Bradwell sounds like the one.I am interested because that must have been similar to our long-submerged cathedral at Selsey.

Hi Sharron
I think the Church you mean is St Peter-on-the-Wall at Bradwell-on-Sea. I have been there as some of my ancestors came from that area. It is a very unusual church.To get to it (probably best to come by car if you can) come down the High Street until you get to the Church of St Thomas on your left. Take a left into Eastend Rd, follow this road until you come to a farm where the rd stops and turns into a footpath. You have to park in the farmyard and walk the rest of the way, probably about a quarter of a mile. The path can be muddy and it will probably be windy as it is very near to the sea. But it is well worth going to see. Be warned there are no toilets or other facilities near the church.

There is a little Church in Greenstead, Essex, which is like a barn, and has places in the wall, where Lepers could look through, to take part in Services, but not go in the Church.

Also there is St Osyth's , which is like a barn.

On one of the programmes that Fred Dibnah made about buildings he showed a Saxon Cathedral.It was a very plain,barn like structure that is probably not consecrated any more.I think it was somewhere in East Anglia or Essex.

I am quite interested to see what it looked like and if I can find out any more about it.

Does anybody know where it is?
