CLEARY James & Jeannie

Looking for two - possibly more - half brothers, born to my father James CLEARY originally from Dublin, Ireland. I have proof that James was in Canada during the 1940s but he was living in Dublin in 1946 with a lady called Jeannie. It is my belief that Jeannie is his first wife and the mother of my two half brothers. I do not have Jeannie's maiden name so am unable to trace her via a wedding certificate. Any information would be gratefully received. Thank you, Karina.

I have since discovered that Jeannie was really Jane - maiden name HENDERSON.
She and James are together on the electorial register for 1949 - 50 at 2 Upper Buckingham Street, Dublin. After that the trail runs cold, so still looking for any help please.

Karina, can you clarify the timeframe a little?

you were born -after- your father's relationship with Jane?

if you tell us how long after, it could help

if your parents were married, do you have their marriage certificate and does it give James's marital status?

if he was divorced, then presumably the two boys stayed with his wife?

do you know when your father was born and who his parents were?

I can only find two Cleary births with mother's maiden name Henderson.

Both are male and born 1939 and 1948 in Northumberland.

James and Jane married first qtr 1936 Dublin North.

There is a birth of Male (no name) 4th qtr 1936 Dublin North- mother's maiden name Henderson.

Also these births (all in Dublin North with mm Henderson):

Patrick J Cleary 1938
Edward P Cleary 1941
Robert J Cleary 1944
------------------------------------------------------------

I notice you have a James Cleary born 1881 in your tree- if you have more information on the Cleary family that you can share, it might help with the search.
