Do you have his birth certificate? If not where have you got his exact birth date from?

Shirley

Shirley Report 14 Jul 2011 22:21

24 may 1905 he's in the 1911 census x

KathleenBell Report 14 Jul 2011 22:24

Sorry - I think I'm confused. I can't see a Harold Blakely Frankland in the 1911 census. Where is he living at the time? The census wouldn't give his exact date of birth.

Shirley

Shirley Report 14 Jul 2011 22:27

He was born on 24 may 1905 and he's in the 1911 census x

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 14 Jul 2011 22:31

That's why I was confused. I think that Harold is actually Harold Campbell Frankland and not Harold Blakely Frankland. Where have you got the Blakely name from?

Flick Report 14 Jul 2011 23:10

How can you possibly know the exact DOB if you don't have any certs?

There is no birth registered for Harold Frankland - with or without other forenames - in England/Wales in 1905

The child on 1911 census is Harold Campbell Frankland whose birth and death details you have already been given

Shirley

Shirley Report 15 Jul 2011 09:22

No we havent got his birth certificate but on my birth certificate it's Harold Blakely Frankland :-\

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 15 Jul 2011 09:59

Now I'm even more confused. I thought the Harold Frankland on the 1911 census was your nan's father - not yours.

So is Harold Blakely Frankland the one who married Edna Dixon? If so it only says Harold Frankland on the marriage reference.

p.s. will check back later as I have to go out this morning.

What possible relevance can your birth cert have?

You're supposedly looking for info about your great grandfather

Take some time to sort out what you think you want to know...............

Shirley

Shirley Report 15 Jul 2011 10:24

It is my nan's father on her birth cerificate it says harold b frankland but she didnt know he existed til her late teens and that her stepdad wasnt her real dad her mother refused to discuss it and she didnt know if they were divorced or he died but we cant find a death record and thats definately him on the 1911 census and yes he married my nans mum Edna Dixon

Flick

Flick Report 15 Jul 2011 10:27

You say the last time you know of Harold is 1936...this is clearly not so, as his daughter Shirley was born in 1942.................

Does Shirley have any siblings?

Flick

Flick Report 15 Jul 2011 10:30

If that's 'definitely' him in 1911........then the death is also 'definitely' him.................just study - carefully - all the info you have been given..........

Did Edna actually marry Shirley's stepfather?

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 15 Jul 2011 14:20

Does your nan's birth certificate actually say Harold "Blakely" Frankland or just Harold "B." Frankland ?

If it says Blakely then I can't find any other reference to him.

If it just has the middle initial "B" then perhaps the registrar just misheard the "C" for Campbell.

Kath. x

Shirley

Shirley Report 15 Jul 2011 14:40

no it just says Harold B Frankland and no she married my nans dad harold
Thanks Kath for your help x

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 15 Jul 2011 14:48

In that case where have you got the Blakely name from?

Kath. x

Shirley Report 15 Jul 2011 14:57

No there's only 1 but the name my nan's been given for him is Harold B Frankland and we can't find him anywhere on the records but there is a record for when he married my nan's mum in 1936 x

You still haven't said where you got the middle name Blakely from.
