Shirley.............

You were given the death info on the first page of your thread.........so your duplicate request was actually unnecessary.

When you ask for help, it is vital that you read carefully all of the replies............otherwise you are wasting our time.........

Shirley Report 16 Jul 2011 16:11

Yea that's where i went wrong i didn't know you could only do one thread about a particular person so i'm sorry to anyone who's work has been duplicated and thanks for explaining that to me

Shirley,

If all the other information on this thread is correct (like the 1911 census and Harold's parents being William and Margaret Susan, then you have already been given his death. It is on the first page of this thread.

No one is being rude to you. It's just that Genes asks that you only have one thread for a particular person because the people helping will duplicate work already done on the first thread and so waste their time and perhaps money if they are using their own credits for different sites. People don't mind giving their time and credits - but not if you have already been given the information.

Sorry Shirley

Who is rude?

Do you think it is fair after all this info being given to you to go and start another thread? for it all to be given again

Maybe you would like to find his birth yourself

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 15 Jul 2011 15:13

If your nan had brothers or sisters you could try getting their birth certificates to see what name Harold uses on them.

Have to leave the computer for now so my son can use it.

Shirley Report 15 Jul 2011 14:57

No there's only 1 but the name my nan's been given for him is Harold B Frankland and we can't find him anywhere on the records but there is a record for when he married my nan's mum in 1936 x

jax

jax Report 15 Jul 2011 14:52

Just been reading through this thread and am confused.

So are there two Harold Frankland's ?

Did'nt this man marry your nans mum? where the marriage has been given

jax

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 15 Jul 2011 14:48

In that case where have you got the Blakely name from?

Kath. x

Shirley

Shirley Report 15 Jul 2011 14:40

no it just says Harold B Frankland and no she married my nans dad harold
Thanks Kath for your help x

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 15 Jul 2011 14:20

Does your nan's birth certificate actually say Harold "Blakely" Frankland or just Harold "B." Frankland ?

If it says Blakely then I can't find any other reference to him.

If it just has the middle initial "B" then perhaps the registrar just misheard the "C" for Campbell.

Flick

Flick Report 15 Jul 2011 10:30

If that's 'definitely' him in 1911........then the death is also 'definitely' him.................just study - carefully - all the info you have been given..........

Did Edna actually marry Shirley's stepfather?

Flick

Flick Report 15 Jul 2011 10:27

You say the last time you know of Harold is 1936...this is clearly not so, as his daughter Shirley was born in 1942.................

Does Shirley have any siblings?

Shirley

Shirley Report 15 Jul 2011 10:24

It is my nan's father on her birth cerificate it says harold b frankland but she didnt know he existed til her late teens and that her stepdad wasnt her real dad her mother refused to discuss it and she didnt know if they were divorced or he died but we cant find a death record and thats definately him on the 1911 census and yes he married my nans mum Edna Dixon

What possible relevance can your birth cert have?

You're supposedly looking for info about your great grandfather

Take some time to sort out what you think you want to know...............
