Penny

Look at the OTHER threads.

Caroline knows all the names etc.

Adoption could take place before 6 weeks - if the arrangements were in hand prior to the actual birth

And Caroline knows how to reply on here....she did so on her previous posts

Caroline, you seem to know quite a lot.
People are rarely adopted at 6 weeks, the legal process takes longer than that, at least 6 weeks.
Caroline tells me in a message that there is no file- how do you know these bits and peices then? Was this an inter family adoption maybe?

Please tell us all you know, by posting a reply here , then we might be able to pull together & help you some more

I think this could be him as there might be an error with the marriage transcription:

Births Jun 1910
DURK Royston Donald Wells 5c 405

The posting by Paul calls him Donald and there's another posting here where he's referred to as Royston:

http://m.genesreunited.com/boards.page/board/ancestors/thread/562674

He remarried in 1948.

Can you find anything on Ronald... Rose... I can only find a marriage for him.

Wondering whether he was an overseas serviceman who dissapeared during the war Years and Emily remarried in 1956

Emily's maiden name was Milsom:

Marriages Dec 1930
Durk Ronald R Milsom Bristol 6a 381 MILSOM Emily E Durk Bristol 6a 381

Looks like she was born in 1910 in Bristol.

This is all from FreeBMD:

Will send you birth and marriage details of other children

If you search the trees for the three people I have given you...you will find a few people who have them in their trees...

As these children were a fair bit older than you, there does'nt look like there are any others as she was 46 when she remarried

Get your file from social services - it may hold clues. Might come as a bit of a shock to subsequent children, finding her name here. Please tread carefully
