Find Living Relatives

I am related to the yates family who were last living in Glossop that being a Tom Yates, his daughter Olga and his wife whose name escapes me but she was a Wadsworth.
A photograph album with photos back to the turn of the century has come into my possesion. It contains photos of yates people plus a Cyril Bowden who married a Clara Yates and photos of Joule ladies being mary and Clara who were born in the late 1800's.
I amkeen to return this album to anyone in the family who might have a connection and be able to identify the photos.

thank you for that which does answer a mystery in that I have a postcard in the photo album addressed to a Ms B. O. Yates that I thought might be an error but clearly is not. Very gratefull to you. This might change things!

Rose has kindly supplied details of Olga's birth and she would now be 85 if she is alive which is possible. Will be trying a directory enquiry search on Monday. Does nopt of course explain whyn the photo album if it is Olga's was on sale on a stall at Glossop market?
It is such a shame I have all these lovely old photos and would really like them to be with someone from the family.

If Beryl never married, there is a death in 2000 for a Beryl Olga Yates who was born in July 1928.

This does fit with the quarter her birth was registered.

There's a Beryl O Yates who married a Kenneth Shackleton in Worthing in 1992.

Looks like he died in 2000 and he was born in 1915. A Beryl A Shackleton shows on the 2002 electoral roll.

This would be his birth and he does appear in some trees on this site:

Do you know place of death? Last known address I have for Olga was Hyde.
I dont think the Worthing lady is our Olga as my late mother was in contact with her and would have told me if she had married .

She died in Tameside district which includes Hyde.

i suspect that is our Olga. What a shame and perhaps that explains why the photo album came to be on sale on a market stall in Glossop.

I am using the search facility here and have several messages out trying to trace other family but I dont hold out huge hope that I will find anyone able to identify the people in the photos.

there is however a Heritage Centre for Glossop so maybe i will send the album to them so they can publicise it locally.

I didn't realise how close Glossop is to Hyde. I suspect this album was left to Beryl after her parents died. With no living descendants, it made it's way to a market.

I suspect Clara and Tom must be siblings. Might be worth tracking down other siblings of theirs.

Are you sure of the spelling of Joule. Could it be Jowle? That means Mary and Clara could be sisters of Lucy.
