Hi I`m trying to help someone find a relative(the above named lady) and she is listed as living in Lancashire in 2002 on the electoral register but I cant get an address for her...would anyone be so kind as to look for me as i really dont want to buy lots of credits just for one name..She isnt in anyone`s tree as I`ve already looked.....Many thanks in anticipation...and good luck all with your searches...

Fiona, whoever looks will have to use credits though - as far as I know there are no subs to this site.

Did she have any children, it might be easier to look for them possibly, on Facebook perhaps?

If she is the person I am thinking of, she married 1956 and had 5 children, births Bucks/Gloucs/Lancs if that makes sense?

Hi Jan..yes thanks I`ve done all that searching and found 5 births including twins in Berkshire..one in Bristol ..one in High Wycombe and the last one in Lancs...but having tried as hard as I might there is no record of any of them marrying..dying..or on the electoral register except Ann..and her final child was also registered in another surname but she didnt marry the father...and I realise that someone will have to use a credit which I am very appreciative of..but as I said I`d rather not have to buy however many it is to just get one address...and I`ve also checked facebook too....thankyou Mary

OK! Seems a little strange that there is no record for any of the children after their births doesn't it - you would expect one marriage at least. Makes me wonder if they emigrated!!

Suggestion - alter heading to 'electoral register lookup please'.

Are you sure the one in Blackpool is your relative? There's no middle initial.

When was Ann born because I don't see a birth for her?

This is her married name Rose - I assumed her birth was 1940 Berkshire, though she would have only been 16 when she married if this is the case. In any case as far as I can see there is no sign of any of them. anywhere in English/Welsh records..

The one in Blackpool is definitely not the one because she is only in her fifties - have pmd details of this one to Fiona

For what it''s worth, I think they either emigrated or took on a different surname - either because Ann re-married or just the name of the person she lived with. I just can't believe 6 people have disappeared without a trace! Have you looked under the surname of the last child, who you say had a different name?

Hi...thank you all for checking this out for me...its a difficult one isnt it...Ann was born in 1940 Jan in Windsor and was 16 when she married..I have checked out the childrens names in all surnames..Ann`s maiden name..married name and that of the last child born in 1968 in Lancashire..and the reason I dont think they emigrated is because she went off and had the other child well away from where she was from...the person I`m helping is the 3rd child born in 1959...he was adopted...I myself was adopted and found my family 21 years ago with fantastic results so now help out people via friends of friends of friends etc...Leanne sent me a message about emigration and I wonder if just maybe the father took the children to Poland..how would I access emigration records? Any advice would be welcomed...thanks everyone..Mary :-D

As this thread has a few replies, people with passenger lists might not look, thinking it is being sorted
I suggest you start a new thread asking the general question, and put link to this thread. I would make the heading something like 'passenger list lookup please.'
If unsure about how to copy & paste just say - you def. need to do this!.

Done!

Right, what you do is go to the www bit (I think you call it a web address but not very computer savvy!).
Then copy the whole line - in this case

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/living_relatives/thread/1289541?jump=7963167

But do it by copy & paste - see below.

When you have done this you can paste it onto a new thread. If you go to 'genealogy chat' board you will see my thread relating to this one.

To copy, all you do is:
place cursor to left or right (or bottom/top if a chunk of text)
hold down left mouse button and drag across what you wish to copy - it will turn blue
let go
click right button (do not hold down)
a menu will appear
left click on 'copy'
go to where you want to put this
right click
left click on 'paste'

This is a really helpful skill to learn.
