An absolute shot in the dark here - probably futile - but just in case, I am looking for Derek - he was best man at my wedding in 1959 and served in the RAF in Singapore with my late husband. We have always kept in touch but he moved in the last year or so from Knottingley to I think Whitby and he has forgotten to give me his new address - sends me Christmas cards, but I canlt reply!! He was married to Pam, who sadly died and remarried someone called Annie - he has a son Paul and has connections to the yachting fraternity in Yorkshire. I have tried the yachting clubs, his old address to no avail. As I said, probably hopeless but maybe........... :-)

Have you tried a street search for the address you have on Friends Reunited? There might be a neighbour registered who can help you.

Ann try goggling RAF Cardington there might be an Associaton .

Also I'd suggest goggling the Unit in Singers where your hubby and friend served.

It might be worthwhile goggling the guy's name - sometimes amazing wot comes up!

Also if you member of Saga Zone try leaving a post on the appropriate Forum - I did way back and recently someone got in touch giving me all the data I needed on guy I was seeking

Best of luck, don't give up, I found an old mate from 1963 after over 5 years of searching.

Regards from an old Sapper

I worked with a joint services outfit at RAF Hendon1964-67 - long distance air trooping and Singapore always knows as "Singers" Seem to recall Hong Kong was "Honkers"

Dont 4get you can post a message on Forces RU in the appropriate RAF Forum - worth a try. You can also post on "Lost Trails" on the British Legion site (free) and on the "Missing You" site (free) which has a RAF section
