We are trying to trace Frederick Gosling whom we lost touch with many years ago, but trying to find out if he is still alive.

We know these details:
Lived in Market Harborough about 50 years ago, and he was married to Nellie Elizabeth Bigsby, but they divorced.
Date of Birth 26 Feb 1916 or 1908 - there was 4 years difference not sure which was. Nellie born in 1912.

You need the marriage cert..for accurate birth year...

There are no deaths on Ancestry matching the info - for either suggested birth year

could he have remarried abt 1959 in Market Harborough?

Getting the marriage cert is a good idea for the fathers name, but if he lied about his age as my grandfather did, it would not help with the birth year.

Did you have a couple of siblings born in Edmonton?

How can you know he was born in Paddington and his mmn was Leach but not know the year he was born?

I am also searching for any information for Frederick Charles Gosling who was married to Nellie Elizabeth Bigsby, or their children.

I am researching my husbands family history and his mother was Valerie Ann, born 1938. Frederick and Nellie may be her parents. He lost touch with his mother and her family many years ago.

You say Fred and Nellie may be her parents ,well her birth cert will tell you who they are .

If you don't know for sure who the parents are then you may well follow the wrong family route

Look on FreeBMD for Valerie's birth she has a brother and sister also born in Sussex. and a brother and sister born Edmonton

One sister is Iris. Would this be the lady you asked about too ?

Yes, I am sure this is the family we are looking for. I have just received the birth certificate yesterday for Valerie Ann (born Hastings) and would have 2 siblings, including Iris, born there and 2 others born in Edmonton.

My husband is from Enfield and this is where his parents lived when they married and had him. The details you have suggested above all fit. We didn't know about the divorce or second marriage, so this is helpful.

I saw that the original enquiry was on behalf of Iris and hopefully its not too late to follow this up. I would be really grateful if you could send a reply to your PM and hopefully put us in touch with Iris.
