You're welcome Maria

Hey thanks you two. I must admit I thought the positive was to look for the birth 1955. I guess looking for MMN Pratt is definitely the answer here.

People have been so helpful to me, thought I would try helping others.

Good of you to take the time to reply to me.

Thanks again,

Maria

And her maiden name was Pratt, so the births would be Eagles MMN Pratt.

The births and the death are ok...Maria

If you read the thread back Frederick Eagles did not marry Peggy Barnett until 1965 so Richard Eagles born 1955 was probably a child of another Eagles/Barnett marriage in 1953

Ru

Ru Report 12 Mar 2012 20:12

Help me Jax then on this one.

Are the above two not connected as both have same ref:7A 710, but have two names one with hyphon as Harrod-Eagles?

I do realise the death may be a bit off the beat, but Harrod-Eagles would not be common and Richard Harrod-Eagles would be a huge co-incidence. I did think the marriage may help and the lady in question may be on the deth cert thus confirming once and for all.

I see the idea of tracing the parent a help, but brings it's own confusion.

Yes I have now decided he is not related, I am still wondering about Lesley Barnett though born 1966????

jax

jax Report 12 Mar 2012 14:18

Highly unlikely that he is related to your couple though

Hi thanks all that's very helpful

I have found this:

Richard Harrod-Eagles
Year of Registration 1955
Quarter of Registration Jan-Feb-Mar
Registration District Plymouth
Registration County Devon
Mother's maiden name Barnett
Volume Number 7A
Volume Page 710

And This:

Name Richard H Eagles
Year of Registration 1955
Quarter of Registration Jan-Feb-Mar
Registration District Plymouth
Registration County Devon
Mother's maiden name Barnett
Volume Number 7A
Volume Page 710

I hope this is not him:

Death Record
Name Richard George Harrod-Eagles
Year of Registration 1993
Month of Registration March
Registration District Kensington & Chelsea
Registration County London
Date of Birth 24 February 1955
Volume Number 2391B
Volume Page B43B

Maybe his wife holds the key to this.

Good help going on here.

Good luck Posy - what is your connection?

Just one more thought - she didn't marry Fred till she was about 43/44 so you might not find any offspring!

brummiejan

brummiejan Report 12 Mar 2012 08:54

Posy, do remember that when you search for births you must use her maiden name not Barnett! Good luck.
Have you also checked to see if any other members share these relatives by using 'search trees' above?

Hi yes think now it has got a bit tangled up, start at the marriage of Frederick Eagles to Peggy Barnett in 1965, need to work from there and se if any children born - soz for all confusion -

brummiejan

brummiejan Report 12 Mar 2012 08:47

There is a Peggy W and a Peggy W.J. - have put on other thread - and my feeling is these are getting tangled up together.
It might help if we knew the starting point for this query.

You should have stuck to one thread so people could see what has been found before.

Name: Peggy W J Barnett

Date of registration: Mar 2005
Age at Death: 82

If she married Frederick Eagles in 1965 also her maiden name was Pratt ,so as Flip says the birth of Richard probably belongs to another couple anyway.

The only way of finding out is to purchase the marriage cert for 1965

Bit confused over Lesleys birth to be honest...maybe Frederick was not on the scene after the marriage?? or there was more than one Peggy W J

Flip Report 12 Mar 2012 04:56

Do you have Richard's birth certificate to confirm the parentage? There is another Eagles/Barnett marriage in 1953, Kensington, which could be more likely to be his parents.

Posy Report 11 Mar 2012 23:07

Hi yes she was born Pratt married Barnett in 40's then Eagles in 50's children I can find are Richard in Plymouth 1955 and Lesley in Chichester 1966 that's all. Why she died as Barnett I don't know??? I can't find any trace of the Eagles husband Frederick maybe he moved abroad or chnaged his name????

brummiejan

brummiejan Report 11 Mar 2012 21:46

Are you certain Richard is their son? I ask because the MMN on the record is Barnett but her maiden name is Pratt I believe.

She and Frederick married in 1965.

Linked thread? (if I have got this all wrong I apologise and will delete all references)

No he wasn't adopted the parents married but there seems to be no sign of Richard or Fredrick Eagles now very strange perhaps they both left the country???
