hi im tryin to trace livin family members of my deceased dad DAVID WILLIAM EVANS.Also known as barny. i have limited info ,he was born in pontypool in 1952,he was married to wendy smith in 1978 and had to children myself gareth and my sister lisa,he was deceased in oprox 1991,and his dad was called william.he had a further 2 other children which i no nothing about.His nickname was barny and lived in gloucestershire in the early 80s then joined the fair for a number of years. thats all i have
regards gareth :-0 have just found out he had a sister called karen and that possibly ther mothers maiden name was PHILIPPS :-) also he had another sister not no name,and 2 brothers john and ethan (poss)sounds like ethan.He worked on danters fair thro the 80 s up to 1991 he loved going to watch cardiff rugby.

hi thankyou for all your replys we no he died in either glostershire or wales in either 1991-1992 we think his mums maiden name was phililps.

If you order his birth cert you will get his date of birth and parents' names.

I have read your post and i strongly believe that there is a great chance that we maybe searching the same family i have spoken to my mum and she has confirmed everything that you have wrote to being the same dad as mine. His mum was hazel and as for the brother you think is called ethan my mum is almost certain that his name is Ivan but she also is not 100%. If u also think that maybe theres a chance then i would love to hear from you and maybe answer a few questions??

Try clicking on gareth's name in his opening post on this thread.
You can then write to him direct and if he has the same e mail address as when he posted here, GR staff will send an e mail to him to say he has a message in his In box.

Hi thanks all for your help me and gareth are now in contact :) but we are struggling to find his brothers and sister his name was david william evans born 23/5/1952 and he died 20th jan 1993 in kent if any1 could help we be really greatful :) x

Hazel F married William J K in Pontypool in 1952 - so his possible parents.

I'm a bit confused (doesn't take much), are you trying to find David's siblings or Gareth's?

Its davids siblings i know there a john ivan and a karen but dont know where abouts of them :( yes they are the correct parents for him i know hazel has passed away but not sure about william

Do you know if the parent's stay local to Pontypool, when/where did Hazel die please (& did she stay with Mr Evans)? As it looks like David was the eldest, it would help to know if they moved away as I'm not seeing a birth for a Karen in the same district.

You have two variations on one brother's name, Ethan and Ivan - is it possible it was Evan as there is one born to Evans/Phillips in Pontypool in 1954?

Does the person registering David's death give any more clues?

Could you get Gareth to go back to his post and un-mark this as answered - that way more people are likely to try to help. He marked Lynski's post as answered, so that shows up on the board and looks like you no longer need any help. Which obviously isn't the case.

OK, PM from Karen, David's death registered by coroner - so maybe an inquest, could there be anything in the local newspapers??

The inquest took place on the 27th jan 1993 in bromley kent! We are unclear but we think he died alone as it was a long time before a burial took place :( we know he was very close to his sister karen so thats whats making it all confusing! Me and gareth are half brother and sister there is 4 of us altogether gareth and lisa were from his 1st wife then he got with my mum and had me and christopher! We not 100% but think karen had a son and named him andrew in 1980/1981not sure on the date but there was definatly a baby boy if thats any help? Also there is a kathleen joyce down as his grave owner but we not sure who this lady is maybe a girlfriend. :-\ we really are in the dark.
