Find Living Relatives

I am trying to find relatives of Alfred Speedwell Davis. Or anything pertaining to this gentleman/lad.

He was born in Portsmouth in 1907. To Alfred Davis and Hursley Chapman.

In 1911 he was living in Richmond with his family. And I know he went of a holiday to Geneo in 1914 with his family.

I know nothing after this.

I know his mother appears to have died in 1925. :-(

His father also appears to have remarried but in Canada in 1919 and then later again in China in 1926.

I would love to know what happened to him.

Thanks for that, I actually had found that sorry I should have mentioned that. That's what I get for doing this at work. :(

Buying the death certificate might give you a family member informant, who could tell you more about his life.

He died somewhere near here ie. Folkestone / Romney Marsh area.

Thanks Gwyn good point. That'll have to wait till pay day. I was rather hoping there might be someone here that might have known of him.

Oh well, we'll wait and see and wait for pay day.

Have you tried the search trees for any connections?

Do you live in Kent.? If not I could look in old copies of the local paper at the library on the off-chance that there was an obituary notice, which includes some family information.

I have tried tree connections, there was one close match and I tried contacting that person a couple of times with no luck. There is no match for his mother at all.

Checked micro-film of Folkestone Herald for issues 3rd May 1991 to 30th August 1991 inclusive looking in family notices, obituary column and acknowledgement / thanks without finding any mention of him.

Happy to look locally if you think of anything for which you need further help.

Just an update on Alfred.

I got his death certificate and his wife Florence was the informant. They lived in Romney Marsh.

I tried doing a search on google for Florence at the address named but no luck.

Has anyone go any suggestions on what to try next please.

Why pm it when she has died?

Because I hadn't yet looked for a death Jax :-) I was only on freebmd ( looking at something for my own tree) , and just went directly from that to seeing if anyone had her on their tree here.

edit I was going to send by PM if I had found there was a child of the marriage so had the PM box open ready.
