After being given information after a media appeal on my abandonment, I am looking for my possible Half siblings Brian Davey and Helen and Sandra. as children they would have lived in possibly Hadleigh Southend on sea. Their father Mervyn unfortunately died in the 1970's. Their mothers name is Susan. If anyone can help me with any information I would be grateful.

Do you know when, approximately, they were born?
Thanks

Have you got Mervyn and Susan's marriage certificate of 1955?

which parent do you share please?

michelle

michelle Report 6 May 2012 15:51

They were born before 1968 which is when I was born. i believe Brian is the oldest poss around 1956 and the sisters somewhere inbetween prob up to 1965. Mervyn Davey is the parent that we share. I believe he was half morrocean which would match previous DNA tests which put me at 20% North African! So it is a very promising lead!

Buy the birth certificate for more information:
Births Sep 1931
Davey Mervyn A Jones Bristol 6a 159

found here:

There are other Davey/Jones births in Bristol, but definitely a variety of families as some births too close together.

Mervyn A Davey

Have ordered certificates, but having trouble tracing Helen Davey born 1957 and Sandra Davey born 1959. I have been trying to trace possible marriages then trying to trace those people on 192 or facebook etc but with not much success! I guess its very difficult to trace women due to name changes. Any other hints or tips i could try?

Have you looked to see if anyone has Helen or Sandra in their trees on here?

If the birth that I sent was correct, Sandra has a middle initial.

Unfortunately no obvious marriages for her in London or Southend.

I wonder if Susan married again, and they all moved elsewhere?

I receved birth certs for Mervyn which revealed his parents names Gladys Rose Davey (formally Jones) and Francis George Davey. I found a Francis Davey on members family trees who looked like a possible match. I contacted the other member on the offchance, and it turns out both of these people were her grandparents!! Therefore she is my cousin! I have messaged her back and am waiting eagerly to hear back from her again!

Neither of his parents appears to be Moroccan at first glance:

Marriages Mar 1918
Davey Francis G J Jones Bristol 6a 309
Jones Gladys R Davey Bristol 6a 309

Are the results of this media appeal available online?

How good to find a cousin.
Well Done.

michelle Report 25 May 2012 20:43

IFrom what I have been told Rose, Mervyn was the eldest child of Gladys but looked unlike any of his other siblings who were all blond! Even so he was very close to both Gladys and Francis and apparently proudly carried around a photo of himself standing between his mum and dad with all his his younger siblings in front! Apparently he stood out like a sore thumb! I appeared on This Morning Itv on November 18th last year and was in the centre spread of the daily mirror on the 16th November ( my birthday was on or around 17th November!) I am still on the daily mirror website under Michelle Rooney! Thanks for your interest

I really dont understand!

Nov 2011 poster didn't know who they were at all. ..a foundling.

If info has come to light, how come these siblings are still unknown? Is fathers name fact or based on supposition by a 3rd party?
