Find Living Relatives

Hi 
I am Trying to find my half sister Michelle Davies . Mike our father emigrated to vancover With my mother Maureen in about  1965 . They split up in about 1966 and my mother came home To UK a few months before i was born .Mike stayed and met  Mary, from Ontario  Canada and they had Michelle .Mike went on to a further two wife's i understand but nobody knows anything in the uk 
 I was adopted in uk when I was when my mother remarried in the uk .

Those are definitely his parents , I believe he was born on 11 oct 1941 .

He was born in Kampala as Donovan his dad and gladys got a job on a game reserve out there .

What was your mother's maiden name? I want to find the marriage to see if he has any middle initials.

It was 1963 and it was just Michael Davies.

I have to got now but , would like too try and locate him although I friend of mine who did this as a hobby drew a blank .

What about tracking down a will? I see his mother died in 1976. The informant might be a relative.

What about his siblings?

As you have probably realised I am a beginner at this , how did you find his mother died ?
He had three sisters Ann who lives in the forest of dean , I met her 10 years ago but she hadn't heard from Mike for 20 years.
The other two were pat and I think june . Pat lives in Detroit and married a gut call Ron Gay who died in last 5years June live in new York in think.
I managed to get her phone no two years ago and rang her , she remembered Anna my sister but I think mike had ripped her and Ron off some years before and I got the impression she didn't want to talk to me .
Regarding Mike he and my mother lived in van cover in about 1963 they had Anna and I was conceved when they separated , mum and Anna came back to england where I was born and she married Fred butler who adopted me and Anna . Mike devorsed mum and lived with and I think married Mary and they had Michelle . That relationship didn't last long and he moved elsewhere and lived with a woman where he brought up two kid that weren't his for a number of years . The last info I have of him was that he was with a oriental lady in California and he had a son with her , apparently her aging farther signed his bus tour company over too Mike and he did a runner with all the money . I only know all this from muriel childs who i was told was my aunty , but she was I fact related to mikes mum. Muried helped mum and Fred when they got together so wouldnnt tell me about Mike ,but these things she told my mum befor she died 12 years ago . Sorry for the life story but it pretty much all I know . Although I have been told all my life that mike is a bad man ,
I would rather have to opportunity to draw my own judgment .

I looked on Ancestry. Gladys was born in 1907:

Problem is there are hundreds or Michael Davies and Donovan and Gladys weren't fans of middle names, despite having several themselves.

That great stuff you found there , it just go's to show what you can get hold of if you know how and where to look. I will update my tree tomorrow .
Hopefully if some of my lost relatives over the pond are members some of the info might match .

All I can suggest is that you get these names in your tree and hope someone spots them. Also try posting on Missing-you.net with details so if anyone is Googling those names, they will see your message.

Muriel was Gladys' sister-in-law. She was married to her younger brother:

Regarding Donovan,
he and Gladys were living happily in the forest of dean and had the three girls.
Donovan got a got in job Rhodesia as a game keeper.
he apparently told Gladys that she could come but not with the girls. so she put the girls with here sister and went with Donovan.
Mike was then born in Rhodesia some time later. I think that Don died in
La Paz the capital of Bolivia leaving Gladys With no money when she returned to the uk.
I know my mother met Mike in Nigeria in her late teens when she was visiting her parents who ran a printing works for the missionary service.
I don't know why he was there ,i guess being born in Africa he liked it there.
One more snippet i gained from my mother yesterday, The Lady mike went to after my Mum was Mary Mathers she thinks from Ontario,
Not hundred % if they were married ?? But they had Michelle
