The sister listed is a half sister. Madeline must be Madeline M T Fry and her mother remarried a Stanton, hence the sister's name.

Her father was Aubrey John Fry and mother Irene Winifred Nash.

Madeline was born in 1940 and married a Watson in 1960. Possible children born

Alan, do you have that marriage cert. with her age listed?

Edit: Previous post deleted for some reason so my reply looks out of place.

Rose

I saw they were on 192, so obviously left shrops area. In some ways because Madeline is an unusual name anyway, the spelling is also unusual, its easy to look. I do know she moved to Wellington in Shrops for a while, which is in North Shrops, but like you say, still can't be 100% sure

Hi Alan, easy done to miss page 2, I've certainly been caught out by that in the past.

I can see the marriage you mean (in Shropshire), but there is no middle initial so wouldn't be too sure about it, think you would need marriage certificate before going any further, it could be an altogether different Madeline.

However, that couple were on the 2002 ER in Broxborne, EN10, according to 192.com but as you know you need to pay to view full address.

Sorry for delay in response, daint realise I had second page lol. I think she may have re-married in 1984 under her maiden name. I think divorce occured in 1973. Her last whereabouts were Newport Shropshire

Hi Alan,

Where did you get the original information?

If you have a copy of the marriage certificate it will give their full names, age, occupation, marital status, address and their father's names & occupation. There will also be witnesses named. If you don't have this I would be tempted to order a copy from GRO.

It could be she was never registered under the name you have, she may have been adopted. Like Rose, I can't see anything for her other than the marriage - did they divorce & when did you last know her whereabouts?

What happened to her and her husband after the marriage? I can find no sign of her. There is a marriage of a Madeleine T Farrell but I think that is someone else.

I'm getting confused now lol. I did some research a few years ago, and was gonna apply to Salvation Army. On forms I filled in, I must have obtained information that Fathers name was John, and birth was 1947. Are there different types of Marriage Certificates that would hold various information?

Flip

Flip Report 31 May 2012 08:42

If you are pretty sure she was born 1947 there is a possible birth under the name Norman (mmn Norman) in Q3, and a Q4 Watson/Norman marriage, but he is not called John. I can't see a marriage or death to correspond with this birth.

Alan,

You said earlier she was born somewhere between 1940 and 1950 . Was no age listed when she married? Who were the witnesses?

Hi,
Have you checked this out Alan?....
There is an Armed Forces birth in Israel for an 'unnamed female Watson' born 1940.

Hi,
In my family we have a birth certificate of an illegitimate child that had very few truths on it. My problem therefore was the same as yours.....seemingly the birth wasn't registered. Perhaps the surname you are looking for is not Watson?
I put my query to Genes, as you have done, By deducing fact from fiction, thay solved the problem for me ! So don't give up, she is out there somewhere.
Good luck.

Could she have been the child of a man in the armed services?
Children born in service men (and women) abroad don't (at the moment ) have thrie births recorded on freebmd or An----rt.

They are however recorded on FM-

Also if she had two (or more) forenames they may have been changed around.

Good luck.
