Start by looking for info on the freebmd site

Also, use GR's 'search trees' which is provided for finding links on the site

If you put the name Ellen Wright into the "search trees" option in the dark green bar above there is someone on this site called Bernadette who has Ellen Wright born 1870 in Brightlingsea in her tree. You can click on her name and send her a message direct.

You must follow the advice about using 'search trees'.....it should be the first place to go when hoping for contacts. That's why GR provide the facility.

If you are serious about tracing Edith, buy her birth cert to find out exact DOB.............if she lived until at least 1970 , you can look for her death using the DOB

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 10 Jul 2012 10:08

I'd been wondering why you asked only for Edith's info - is it , perhaps, because she was your mother in law's mother? (Guessing at that in view of your comments about the birth certs)

If so - when and where was your m-i-l born? Edith must have been there at the time.

Gladys Report 10 Jul 2012 11:25

Gladys

Gladys Report 10 Jul 2012 18:18

I have given you the proof about whom I am searching for ,and in the hope that if any of the SMITH family are reading these posts they will know that this is a genuine enquiry

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 10 Jul 2012 22:42

No-one doubts that you are genuine.........what put THAT idea into your head?

Re-read your post of 11:25 - and see if you think it makes sense.........I certainly don't

The point I was making - which you have failed to grasp - is that you must know where Edith was when she gave birth...........which was long after the 1911 census in Clacton......although you have her giving birth on the day that she was herself born!
