My father was Colin Moran. He married my mother in 1957 and divorced shortly after my birth in 1958. I never met my father but understand he died in 1982.

does anyone know how we go about finding records for Northern Ireland?

Anthony

Anthony Report 22 Jul 2012 10:27

Thanks for the suggestions
We have the details on Colin Snr incl. copy of marriage cert., and have now located and contacted one sister and hope she will get back to us. Seem to have identified 2 other sisters, but as yet not been able to locate them. We now know Colin jnr died in 2008

The records on Ancestry suggest that Colin jnr may have had four full siblings

Free bmd has limited information from the 1960's onwards - look at the coverage charts for more information. (And is missing marriages for the second half of 1960)
If you want more up-to-date coverage use ancestry etc.

Have you got the marriage certificate for more information on Colin and Margaret?

Thanks guys.
These folk are my partner's birth family.
We have already tried Friends Reunited and have sent messages to a few people with possible links on their trees here.
We now believe Colin snr died in 1982, and one of the sisters may have been called Michelle.

Looking for 2 folk by the name of Colin Joseph Moran
The first was born around 1935, and married Margaret Teresa Watson in Leeds in 1960. Would also be interested in any leads re: Margaret, who may have been born in Northern Ireland around 1937.
The second is Colin and Margaret's son, born around 1965 in Leeds and believed to have been married to or living with someone by the name of Faye in the mid1980s
I believe Colin and Margaret also had at least two daughters whose names I don't know, whom I would also be interested to trace.
Any clues or information would be very welcome.
