Find Living Relatives

Trying to locate Beryl Simpson (may not have been her birth name), who grew up with Dorothy Simpson in Watford/Croxley Green area. Her DOB approx 1945. Dorothy (died 1981) and her sister Ginny (schoolteacher) never married and lived together. Raised Beryl who was possibly the child of their younger brother Horace. Beryl and I played together as kids. Would love to find her. Any info. on the Simpsons greatly appreciated.

Not a great deal of info to go on as you're not sure of the surname. All I can think of at the moment is to apply for a copy of Dorothy's Will, costs £6 now, in the hope she may have mentioned Beryl? then you would have Beryl's surname and address. Or............ you could buy a copy of Dorothy's death certificate to see name and address of person who registered her death? it might have been Beryl?
I haven't yet found a birth for 'Ginny' but there is a Dorothy Ada Pateman born Royston 1894 with a Horace Pateman born Royston 1898. but I have not proved they are the family you are looking for.

Oh My Word. Thank you. Yes this is indeed the family. Some of this I had but some I did not have but it all fits together. I did find a son for Horace, born in Bath, but this was Horace's second marriage (maybe there was no first - just family thought they were married) The son was not interested in the family and did not know about Beryl. Cannot find anyone left alive who knew them or anything about them. I have learned that they did live in Croxley Green. Dorothy, known as Dolly, had a family bible. Would love to know where it went too. Really appreciate all the help. Many many thanks. I now live in USA although grew up in Bushey.

did you find his Horace,s marriage from which he had the son. The cert should show if he was a widower on marriage

When did you last see her?

Have you looked for a possible birth for her?

Thanks again for all the helpful suggestions. Dorothy's nephew Lionel, son of her brother Albert, gave info as to her death but Lionel died in 2001 I found he married Frances Page but cannot find any children for them. They left the Watford area as he died in Leicester. I will try checking Friends Reunited again. Nothing on a birth under Simpson. Have not seen her since early '50's.
