As a child of about 8 or 9 my parents had some freinds called Olga and Jack ?

But their surname my mum cannot remember.I have a photo dated about 1965 in a hop garden with them and their 2 boys names unknown also.

I would love to find them again,we lost touch years ago.I can remember going to somewhere like Biddenden or Rolvenden to see them but thats it.
I am guessing the marriage was after 1950 and possibly in Kent.

Can anyone help......please?

Many thanks mfm

If all you have is their first names it would be difficult trying to find them

There is a place called Biddenden in Kent, which comes under Ashford I think.
Maybe you could look for marriages of an Olga to a John/Jack in Ashford as a starting point. But even if you find marriages, how would you know you had the right couple?

These are the surnames for Jack's marrying an Olga betweeen 1950 and 1960 in Kent:-

Baker
Ayres.

Surnames for John's marrying an Olga in the same period in Kent:-

Fermor
Latham
Luck
Smith
Hemmings
Skinner
Bowman
Hancock
Morgan
Evans
Howse
Garner
Gilbert

Maybe one of these would jog your mother's memory.

Of course they could have married anywhere and at a different time.

Well, all anyone else would do is look for marriages in the relevant areas, then search for children of those, all of which you can do on Freebmd.
Then put names into 'search trees' and try contacting anyone who might be linked to them.
Good luck!

How old do you think the children might be?

That might help limit the date range

Does your mother remember anything else whatsoever? Such as where they lived at any point, other than when you visited them.? How did your parents know them? Any scrap of info might just give you the clue you need.

Hi Jan,

Sadly my mum cannot remember anything else, they worked together in the hop gardens and i have a photo of all of us, Olga has 2 boys in front of her.

I wondered if the John F Hemmings to Olga D English might be them 1952 Bromley. But i only found one son on freebmd Mark P Hemmings 1957.

Is there another son?

Hello, i might have found who i was looking for,

Can anyone find their address please?

Thankyou mfm

They are listed together on the current ER on 192.com.
/www.livingrelativesearch.co.uk gives a partial address on a free search as
Lymington SO41

The same free search on Liviingrealtivesearch gives their middle names

Using the partial address on 192, and J Hemmings, you can get a bit more of the address from the phone book entry on 192.

The full address is on http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/
Use the parameters of Hemming and Hampshire.

It's on page 3 :-D

If you do decide to contact them, best to make it along the lines of'trying to identify the people in this photo' sending a copy, giving the reasons and your connection.

A SAE will help to elicit a reply, and your own address on the back of the 'sending' envelope will help its return if they have moved.
