Looking for Patrick Joseph Ward, born Salford 1979, I believe he was a member on Genes Reunited but not now, does anyone know him, or can get in touch with him? Believe he may be a relative of mine, need to confirm who his father is. Any help appreciated thank you!

S Logan

If you have looked up the birth there may not be a father listed...from what I can see

Can we ask why you think this person is a relative please

Where have you got that from Shirley? oh I see that one was born 12 years earlier...so not the same one

No, Mongan is a different one!

I have found a marriage listing which I believe may be my grandfathers. for his 2nd marriage, in Salford 1979, for the same year I have found this birth, his first 2 names (Patrick Joseph)are my grandfathers (he was Joseph Patrick) and the MMN and surname Ward is the same as for the marriage. Not sure why the baby would keep the mother's name if the parents were married but still I thought it would be worth checking out.

jax Report 16 Sep 2012 19:21

If the parents were married he would have the fathers surname

jax

jax Report 16 Sep 2012 19:27

I think I have worked out the marriage.....could that not be her second marriage too? in which case Ward would not be her maiden name

Yes I know, but as you said earlier there doesn't seem to be a father listed. Maybe they got married after the birth, maybe married but seperated before the birth, I don't know. I would just like to check it out and don't really want to spend £20 to get a birth and marriage cert when it may not be,
if you search all trees for Patrick Ward born 1979 Salford, he had a tree on this website. Just thought someone may know how to contact him that's all. If not I'll have to spend out on the certificates to check it myself, but then I'd still need a way to get in contact with him if he is my grandfather's son.

England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2006
about Joseph Patrick Logan
Name: Joseph Patrick Logan
Birth Date: 28 Sep 1921
Date of Registration: Dec 1984
Age at Death: 63
Registration district: Salford
Inferred County: Lancashire
Volume: 39
Page: 931

So if this is him he was 58 when he married ....do you know whether he married someone of childbearing age? her name strikes me of being of someone a bit older...although there are some born in later years.

Do you have this death cert?

jax

jax Report 16 Sep 2012 19:39

You may not be able to order the birth cert anyway as it is less than 50 years unless you can give the full details

Have checked the ERs for Barrow, but no luck. Didn't realise he may not have been eligible to vote until I read the linked threads - thanks Lynski.

I thought you may have had some infomation that a son was born to your grandfather

Obviously not then

The chances that he remarried at 58 and had another family is probably slim...if anything purchase the death cert if he married Ada she probably registered it

jax

jax Report 17 Sep 2012 02:14

This could be the Ada who married in 1979 she is listed on the ER up until 2007with her partner in Salford

ADA LOGAN Died
peacefully in a hospice on September 20 2008, aged 73 years. Much loved Partner of Stan, dear Friend of Marjorie, Ronnie and Barbara and all the Children. Ada
will be sadly missed by fondly remembered by all Family and Friends. Flowers accepted, donations preferred to St Ann's Hospice. Funeral service followed by
committal to take place at Agecroft Crematorium on Tuesday September 30 at 10.20am. All inquiries to Salford Co-op Funeral Care,

No mention of any children but she would have been 44 in 1979

I do have related threads on other boards, I'm sorry I thouhgt this board was specifically for tracing living relatives which is why I asked on here for help. No I do not know for sure that this child was my grandfathers which is why I would like to contact this man. I thought the combination of names dates places made it worthwhile checking out. I was not looking for information regarding my grandfathers birth or death, or whether Ada was married before, if you read my first post you will see I asked did anyone know how to contact Patrick Joseph Ward. As he has been a member on Genes before so presumably has an interest in tracing his family history, and this is the "find living relatives" board. That's all.

Thank you for the info on Ada Logan's death I will look into that.

Did you send a message to Patrick that has not been opened? Is that why you are presuming that he is no longer a member?

Yes

jax Report 17 Sep 2012 15:08

The thing is people try to work out if this is person is related or not to save you wasting your time.If Ada was married before Ward would not be her maiden name which I said before...thats why I mentioned it

He was born after that marriage so it is very unlikely that he is their son. If you still wish to contact him, you could try the Joseph P Wards on 192.com.....which is not a subscription site, or facebook or btonline even.

If he has changed his email address since joining this site, there is no way of contacting him on here I'm affraid.
