	hello Pamela Were they from Sark as Dame Sybil Hathaway was very prominent in WW2. Try posting/searching on rootsweb CHANNEL-ISLANDS. otherwise try the Channel Island family history site. regards Jill

	To Pamela . When I was a youngster (in the 40's) there was a family Hathaway living in Stow on the Wold, Janet was about my age then say 12 . Hope this may help. Pat Foster.
