I am trying to find any family of Douglas Brown born in Detroit in 1931.
He is the son of Charles Brown & Agnes Thom who were both Scottish immigrants to the USA
Charles & Agnes were my Great Uncle & Aunt.
I have found them living in Detroit in the 1940 USA Census.
My trail has now gone cold.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Dougie

Best if you post the details from the census so we can get ages and siblings.

I'm not seeing a Douglas Brown in Detroit with those details.

I got my information from the following

1940 USA Census Detroit City,Detroit, Ward 21 ED No 84 - 1541

There are only three people listed for this family at this address

Charles Brown (Aged 40) Douglas' Father

Agnes Brown (Aged 41) Douglas' Mother

I am informed by a third party that Douglas trained as a Chiropractor
If he is still alive he would be about 80 -81 years old

Dougie

Ancestry has them transcribed as Broson. No wonder I couldn't find them.

Hello Rose

I had a similar problem when I was doing my search in the 1940 USA Census.
I had already found Douglas Brown's father & mother in the 1930 USA Census
I have found this a very challenging search.
Douglas' mother & father originally emigrated to Canada from Scotland & married there.
They then cressed over to the USA & settled in Detroit.
All of the information about Douglas Brown has come from an elderly third party.

Dougie

Hello Rose,

It certainly looks like a possibility
I checked the USA Telephone Directory for Michigan & found a Douglas E Brown
Jnr. aged in his 60's but his telephone number unfortunately is ex-directory.
I may have to order a Death Certificate to continue my research or close a door.

Thank you for your assistance
