Missnell, this thread isn’t really a general one for seeking adoptive relatives.
Start a dedicated one of your own which might be picked up during an internet search.

In the meantime read all the posts giving advice & follow through.
Not mentioned previously is the Adoption Contact Register - url with further links to Intermediary agencies. If you contact one, check fees they would charge.

Trying to locate Francis Donaldson Henderson adopted about 1991-dob April 1989 in Northumberland. He has 3 half siblings who would like to know him. He could possibly be known now as Timothy or possibly Dominic. Any help will be gladly received.

Ring your local Children's Social Services. Get an appointment. Don't say anything on the phone except - "Its about an adoption and its complicated". Don't get drawn into a conversation with a person who just wants you off the phone. Say you need to talk to somebody, get the appointment. They will be able to get hold of the file. Ask for a mediator, be advised they charge.

Yes I have messaged all the people that match. No one ever seems to get back. Yeah I have thought it’s strange how none of them have tried to look. Maybe they just don’t want to.

Have you contacted James who has John H Giggins, ,,,,,,entered yob is a little out but could be a guess.?

Edit,--If neither of them has applied for their adoption file, the department is often reluctent to bring to their attention and probally cause disruption at a crucial time in their lives which could have its own problems.

Hi Theresa and welcome to the boards - this thread is about Crystal's search for 'Giggins'.

As your search is unrelated, it would be best to start a thread of your own. :-)

Hi
Im looking for my sister who was adopted around 1950 in Barking Essex.

Her name on her birth cert is Alice Pike, i believe Alice and my brother Victor Albert

Pike were adopted by a couple who also lived in Barking but then moved to Scotland.

Ive been told Victor died around the age of 21. I do not know what their adopted

name, so this is making it hard for me to trace Alice, i would love to meet my

eldest sister who would now be 65 x

If you have a look at Ancestry Message Boards there are Giggins on there. I think you may find a connection which could be a starter.

Good luck.

To Penny, My husband was born in 1983. Yes he stayed with his mother. His mother can not tell us any more then what we already know.

They were 3,2,1 and newborn taken into care. My husband was born after.

Thank you

Hi, Thanks for your help. Yes my husband has the same mother and father as Darren, Kerry, Michaela and Daniel.

We still have no luck. Darren seems to be on here but he hasn't replied. I have messaged him again. We can see his name is Darren Thomas now and i've messaged hundreds of Darren Thomas' on facebook but can't find him yet.

In the opening post, the poster says she's made 'hundreds of phone calls'

To whom? If these people have been adopted, their surname wil have changed so they wont be Giggins.

If they are interested in their roots, They might have started trees n the birth surname, so searching trees MIGHT help. Otherwise you are stumped because you dont know what their names are!

What year was your husband born? Did he stay with his mother - if so, is she able to tell him anything?

How old were they when they were taken into care?

Hi,

I was just recently connected with my nephew who was adopted 49yrs ago, so don't give up.

I also belong to Ancestry.co.uk, I included my nephew in my family tree. I obtained his birth cert, which had his birth parents names, I added them all in my tree.
When his adopted parents passed away he wanted to find his birth family, so he started his own tree, putting in his father's name, by doing so my tree was made available to him and he emailed me.

Like GenesReunited, Ancestry also have a Find Living Relative site. With the help of the wonderful people on both of these sites I also managed to find my 1/2 brother & sister last year after 33yrs.

I checked for your husbands siblings, finding all there births listed, but were you aware some of them have listed the mother as Giggins or Dale born Banting, Essex.

Question - does your husband have the same parents?

I also found a Cheryl Louise Giggins 1978 - mother ( Sleet ) born Barking, is it possilbe her father was the brother of Jon's siblings father.

If I can be of help let me know

Any message you sent would go to his email address which would say

Contact from Genes Reunited ( >>>Your name<<<)

He would then log onto this site to reply...I believe?

If he has changed his email address since joining Genes and has not notified them ..he will not recieve any messages

Looking at his membership number it looks about 8 years old...so there is a good chance he has changed email address's
