Thought I'd just do a random search on Ancestry. There are just 3 references to a Gillian S. Mathias - 1 birth, 1 marriage (would be late though, 1989!) and 1 entry on London electoral register in 1957. I can't see any other birth for someone of this name.
Might be worth checking out, unless you are certain she stayed in NZ.

Looks like she travelled with a fellow nurse Shirley Royner b 1934 home address for both 177 Anson Road Cricklewood NW2

Both intended to say in New Zealand

Cant see any New Zealand records. She is listed as resident in St Mary's Hospital Praed Street Paddington in 1957

Gillian Mathias was born in 1935 at Willsden, became a nurse and emigrated to New Zealand. Docked at Wellington in 1960.
Can anyone help trace any marriage, children etc.
