Please can you help find my friends only cousin ,do not know if she is still alive.

Josephine A Humphreys b 1934 Nottingham
.
She married 1952 to surname Mellor, don`t know other name.
Divorced him and remarried, no name.Think she had twin boys with 2nd marriage.

Her father was Ralph M Humphreys and mother Irene Hartley b 1913 Nottingham.they married June 1933
Maiden name of mother of Irene was James.

Cannot see any twins born in Nottinghamshire with Mother's maiden name Humphreys.

Neither of us can see a new marriage for her . have you any info at all on her new hubby and childrens names

I have just been going onto FreeBMD and there is a Josephine Humphreys married to a John Sullivan in Surrey Sept 1958 5c 2860.
I am wondering if she could have moved there after she divorced .
I don`t know where to look to see if it is the right person perhaps you can help.

Josephine would have re-married as mellors though.

( her First husband was Mellors not Mellor)

There is a birth for a different Josephine A Humphreys in 1937 in the same area as that 1958 marriage. So I had already assumed that it was not the one you wanted.

She would probably marry for a second time in the Mellors name (but did not have to) but cannot see under either, which is why I wondered if they just lived together.

If you can find out when she left her first husband, and what area she was living in?

If your friend has heard nothing about her for 8 years, then surely he must know area, or further names, or other information, as from the first marriage in 1952 to 2004 is 50 plus years of information missing.

I know on Freebmd they can put maiden name and 1st marriage surname because this has happened with my mothers 2 marriages .
My friend only knew what his mother told him about Josephine as she was the only person in contact with her,he is trying to find his mothers address book to see if there is anything there to help.
His mother died 8 years ago in Westbourne Bounemouth ,if Josephine lived down that end of the country seeing that is where her father died she would be able to visit .

My friend has not been able to find any surname or address for Josephine in his late mother papers,but he says she did live in the London area so I am still wondering if it is the Josephine Humphreys I found married to John Sullivan .Lambeth Sept 1958 5c 2860 is there any way of checking this please.
Her 1st husband was Denis Mellors married June 1952 Nottingham.

The twin boys I mentioned earlier were adopted so that is why you couldn`t find them

The marriage cert will have to be purchased to find out anymore...but as already mentioned there is a Josephine born in Lambeth which would fit that marriage

It does'nt matter whether the twins were adopted....they would still have therir births registered
