Find Living Relatives

The General Register Office has not been able to process our request for Violet's birth certificate, as the parents we quoted (George Jezard and May Jezard from Violet's baptism were incorrect), so we are going to resubmit the request without the parent check this time. We have tried to find George and May in various official records but to no avail - as George was a P&O steward a very plausible suggestion is that they were out of the country when they got married and that is why they are not listed on various official records. However, they could also be 'false' parents.

As we already know that the baby baptised after Violet at St Phillip's Church, Earls Court, Kensington, Horace Thresher his baptism parents Percy Thresher and Louisa Thresher are not married (they get married in 1905) and are actually called Percy Atkins and Louisa Thrasher, we will also order Horace Thrasher's birth certificate without a parent check.

In the 1911 census Percy Atkins and Louisa Atkins although technically accurate, do not mention that they have a child of their marriage or have lost a child of their marriage - however, they still do not mention Horace Thrasher/Thresher's birth at all and no Horace is living with them or can be found living elsewhere in the 1911 census.

Yes we've looked too for George and May's wedding and on any censuses - also without success.

These families - Thrashers/Threshers/Atkins & Jezards & Courtenays have a habit of changing their names!

133 Finsborough road isnt listed in 1901.tried an address search

You say the Thrasher family are connected to the Jezard's

On the same day that Violet was baptised the next entry is for Horace son of Percy & Louisa Thresher/Thrasher and BOTH families lived at 133 Finsboro Road Percy is listed as a C Clerk and George Jezard is listed as steward on P & O.

Looks like it was a joint christening.

Cant see May or George on any census or a marriage for them

(Edward) Leslie Court is Horace Courtenay's cousin (we have Edward Leslie Court's birth certificate and Edward's mother's maiden name is Ruth Jezard - Ruth and Grace are sisters). We don't know at this stage which relation George Jezard is to Ruth Jezard.

Horace Courtenay is also staying at the boarding school and is related to Violet (but we don't know how). Horace never mentioned Violet during his lifetime (Horace died in 1959) and Horace's son Michael doesn't know of a Violet in the family. We are really trying to trace these families for Michael as he believes he is from a virtually extinct family - would be good to find any of his family for him.

After that there is no trace of Violet?

We are currently waiting for Violet's birth certificate to arrive to see if any further information comes to light as the Thrasher/Jezard/Courtenay family are related.

Please note GR deleted the first duplicate thread on Find Living Relatives without warning as it had been reported as a duplicate thread, so I asked if that thread could be reinstated to move over posts to Finding Ancestors - and unfortunately no.

So the same didn't happen to the other duplicate thread on Find Living Relatives I moved across any research to the Finding Ancestors threads and then deleted the second Find Living Ancestors thread so that further posts would not entered and then again deleted without warning.

While I appreciate your research it is a learning curve using a new system.
