Welcome to the boards.
Have you registered yourself on the National Adoption Register, in case Alan is looking for his birth family, and has done the same thing?
It might be possible to have your contact details put on his adoption file in case he ever accesses this - you would need to speak to social services in the first instance I think.

Alan Smith born 16/ 08/1969. Adopted in kent between 1976-1977. If anyone has any info i'd be very grateful.
