ive noticed with all the info that im getting mother used bryant for 4 of her children and used her birth name hansen for just one of my brothers ,,
this hansen/bryant thing is so confusing
but one person did say that her eldest sister could of brought her up ,,maybe ,,because this eldest did marry a bryant and mothers father did die when she was 1 leaving her mother with lots of kids between the ages of 1 and 25 ,,so that could of been one reason ,,
ive never been able to find divorce papers for mother and father ,or re marriages although someone thinks they found a remarriage for mother to a noble
thank you all again

You have put that Charles died in 1939.
This is the only death that I can see, do you know if it is the correct one?
Charles A Hansen
Birth Date: abt 1905
Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1939
Age at Death: 34
Registration district: Fulham
Inferred County: London
Volume: 1a

(Or could he have been registered as Hanson?)

No death for 'Annie Hansen' in 1974.
Do you know where?
Thanks

Were you all fostered? Were there any adoptions because the adoption papers might reveal more about your mother.

Perhaps Moya was brought up by her eldest sister and assumed the surname Bryant?

Sorry, just realised, why this was 'familiar'

I hope this is the wrong Moya.

The obituary claims she was born as Chapman, but unfortunately no ages given.

There is a possible marriage for Moya Chapman (no middle initial) in Burnley in 1978.
(I can see 3 births for Moya Chapman, all with a middle initial, so partially ruled these out)
The marriage does not give alternate surnames for her, however.
Will pm it.
She then can be found in 192.com - but it could be a different Moya, not your Mother.

I would think she was "known" under 2 different names, she may have lived with someone but not been married? So she was born Hanson, but may have assumed the name Bryant - hence the marriage index. It often happens, and is a common occurrence.

Do you know when Annie or Charles Hansen or John Bryant died?

From the marriage certificates that you have got, what are the names of the Fathers?

I think you also need to get the certificates for the weddings Reggie has found.

Was your Mother the informant on your Father's death certificate?

There are Chapman/Bryant births in South Shields after 1954, if that is relevant??
They can be found on Freebmd.
The only Chapman/Bryant marriage in the area is the one you have, as far as I can tell, so possibly their children?
