Thanks for the look ups your time is very much appreciated.

I have made contact with someone who has one of Edward and Louisa's Daughter in their tree...and I have sent messages to 3 other possibles....

the census I refer to I got from this site...

My aim is to find anyone who has this family in their tree.. its only been a couple of weeks since I found Edward who is my Grandfathers Brother and the marriage certificate that came this week proves that..... ..My Grandfather always said he had 2 Brothers one of whom died very young from drowning in the Thames.......having now found Edward we are assuming that Michael is the one who drowned...........He is on the 1891 census as Mikiel MURRY but no where to be found on the 1901 census... My Granadfather on that census is living with his Grandmother and Aunt an Uncle.... ........... we dont know what our Grandfather would call "very young" because in 1891 Michael was 8....9 when their Mother died.....................he could have drowned any time from 1891-1901......( 8 years to 18) my Idea of "very young " would be not long after his Mum died...

If I find closer relatives than the chap I am already in contact with then maybe I will find out what happened to My Great Grandparents.. David and Mary Welch......I am hoping Edward was a great story teller like my Grandad and that memories of home were passed down to the Grandkids.......though from what we are learning now Edward didnt move far from where he was born...

Michael Edward's Father we think came accross from Ireland by himself..on the 1861 census he is living in Stebondale Street no other MURRY spelt anlyway

My Grandfather lost contact with his Sisters during the War .. my Aunt says that she was about 12 the last time he received a letter from anyone in England.... When I found Mary Ann had married Thomas SAVAGE My Aunt said the names are now starting to come back to her.... so we are on the right track... but she couldnt remember anything about Edward..

What you have found has been an enormous help...

the name changes several times from MURRY, MURREY to MURRAY so we really have to look hard

thanks again

Use freebmd to look for Michael's death.

Don't get hooked on spelling..................the enumerator wrote what he thought...........as the people themselves were almost all illiterate

And you also have to allow for transcription errors............
