You start with what you definitely know.
Have you got your birth certificate?
Were your parents married?
If so, apply for their marriage certificate - you have not told me your father's name for me to know if what I found was correct.
If no Father's name on the marriage certificate, then possibly illegitimate.
I cannot go into full details of how you do your family tree, there is not space here to go into full details. Get a book, get some magazines, do internet searches, join an evening class, We are here to help you when you get stuck, not to tell you how to start from scratch.
Certificates can be purchased through here:
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

Are you in contact with either of your parents, as I did say previously that she appears to be showing on 192.com?

Do you know the names of any of her brothers?
Do you know when her Mother died?
Do you know where in County Durham she was born, and when, as Smith is an extremely common surname?
Were your parents married and, if so, have you got the certificate for her Father's name?

Sorry to keep on asking questions, but you have supplied very little information.
If you are trying to trace her brothers then you need to know what they were called.

Added:
If this is your parents' marriage, have you got the certificate?
Evelyn Smith
Spouse Surname: Salisbury
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1967
Registration district: Shrewsbury
Inferred County: Shropshire

Are you still in contact with your Mother as she is showing on 192.com?

Added:
You have put her birth as 1947, in your tree on here.
What was her Mother's name?

Do you know when her mother died, and her mother's name?
Were your parents' married, and , if so, have you applied for their marriage certificate for her Father's name?
Thanks

Added:
Have you looked on free bmd for her birth?
This looks possible, as you said Co Durham and it gives several siblings also:
Births Sep 1948
Smith Evelyn Horan Gateshead

Is she still alive?

Added:
On your new posting on Find Ancestors you have put that her Mother's name was Smith, so do you mean this birth?
Births Sep 1947
Smith Evelyn Smith Durham W. 1a 1257
If so, were her brothers also illegitimate?
