Well today I received the best news ever, I have found my father after nearly 35 yrs & we spoke on the phone today & we clicked straight away. I never thought this day would ever come or it would be too late.
He is living in Paignton & we hope to meet later this year.
I would like to pass on my thanks for the help & information as this helped to find my father Terry Cooper. :-D <3

Did you try the earlier advice to write to the RAF - he would be of pensionable age by now - they may be able to help.

Still not any closer to finding my father, found out Christina is no longer at that address & there was no forwarding address.
The new people moved in December 2012 but did have no information on the previous owner/tenants.
Search is still going on with the P.I

I've just posted a letter to Christina, so I hope she can help or even pass on the message.

That's a shame ,thought we were on to something there but the ref was just a T Cooper so could have been.

Found out that my father is not living at the address in Paignton it was a Tim Cooper.
So the search is still on. I feel quite gutted but I know I am getting closer.

well seems was only Christina still at that address but have probably found him on BT online .

have you tried writing to RAF to whom they will forward a letter onto him for you but this is only if he is getting a raf pension.
Exact thing happened to a relative of mine and this is how they found them.

I have been given more information on my father, it looks as though he has retired to Paignton Devonshire. Re-married again in 1995 to Christina Hayes, still trying to find information on their marriage but getting closer though have been told they are not together. My father moved to Paignton in 2009 so let's hope I will meet him after 34 years.
I would like to thank everyone on Genes Reunited if it wasn't for your help especially to Shirley :0) as I had no information to go on.

Best not to ask straight away to view anyones tree without establishing if there is a family connection.

i know if i got such a request out of the blue I would say No chance !!

I would try again with another message . Take out all refs to viewing her tree and put Terrys details in and what you know so far and ask if there is any connection to her Terry she has listed.

Yes that's the correct Mark Cooper, I didn't have all the information on D.o.B
All the information you have given me has helped me to understand my father's side of the family. Now just got to find where he is I still have his RAF service No. X4284382 again this seems to be quite hard to find the correct path to go down but I'm still trying to find information on ex service personel.

Thank you for helping me, yes he got divorced from my mother Jeannie Cooper probably 1981- 1983, I found out that he has a sister called Christine but was never told anything bout my father's side of the family.
