George white was my mother's brother. According to my late mother he was born 1907. He died 25 December 1979 at Plymouth. His second wife was called Ellen. I do not know what her maiden name was. My mother said she believed he had a daughter by his first wife.

I have a feeling George's first wife could have been called Iris.

The two other people with George's name in their tree are related to me. They copied the information from my tree. :-)

There are marriages of White's to Iris's in Plymouth.
In 1941 of Albert C G White and also of Francis J White (to different Iris's).

Could the marriage have been elsewhere?

Hi, the list above shows my mother's brothers and sisters, but her name is not listed. My mother Elsie Mary White wasnt born until 7/03/1915
George may have married elsewhere, I recall when I was very young he was in the army and probably in the army when he married. i just assumed he was married in Plymouth. I also recall he died at Christmas, this would match the record above
It would seem likely my mother had his birth year wrong and it was 1908 not 1907, unfortunately I have no exact date, only the possible year.
My grandparents were Henry Albert White (although he used his first two names in reverse, I.e. Albert Henry. Born 10/06/1871 died 24/05/1953 My grandmother was Emily Ellen nee Witheridge, born 23/1011878 died 16/02/1953
Some of the dates above differ, my Uncle Arthur's birthday was 16/94/1910.
My mother has Ivy's birthdate as 24/08/1903. And her brother Alberts birthdate as 5/6/1897.

My apologies . My mother's brother Wilfred was married to an Iris - Iris Fleet.
This now leaves me puzzled as to the name of George's first wife. :-0

If the census is the right George, he was born between 1st April 1907 and 31st March 1908.

Hi, thanks for response. I feel sure this is George. I knew George's second wife Ellen (nee Mills) who had also been married before but I did not know her previous married name.

No children from the second marriage.

I cannot see the marriage of Wilfred to Iris Fleet.

Any idea when George's second marriage occurred?

Hi again, further enquiries from extended cousins, discovered that Wilfred White met Iris en-route by boat to Australia and married in Australia! So no record here. At least that query resolved.
