can anyone tell me if there is any free sites for looking for births in ireland from 1950s also looking for baptisms as well

familysearch.org is the only free site that have BMDs for S. Ireland up to 1958, N. Ireland 1922.

We have tried to get B.M.D.certificates from Ireland but they do not search or post them out.you have to go there to get them we made a trip to look at parish records.
Irish census records are available for 1911.National Archives census of Ireland.

To order certs for anywhere in Ireland before 1922 groireland.ie there cheaper 10 euro or you can get a a photo copy for around 5 euro, for N.Ireland after 1922 you can order from here
http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/ They charge £14 a cert

Both can do searches for a fee
