All very vague this but tis all the info I have.

Seeking William (Lofty) Bond. Lofty served in the Sappers and in 1964 was a student on a gunnery course at the RE Wing at Bovington, Dorset. After the course He returned to 26 Armoured Engineer Squadron in Hohne, BAOR.

Lofty would have been born about 1942 but no idea where. When he left the army (No idea of year) it’s understood he married a lass who had 3 daughters and went to live in Hale or Helston in Cornwall.

Is it possible for anyone to see if there’s a Willam Bond in either of those places please?

I have made extensive searches on the internet for Lofty but to no avail. He and another guy helped save the life of my mate Fred Gogin when there was a gunnery incident at Lulworth ranges involving the 165mm gun on the then, new Centurion AVRE. Fred is very keen to meet up with Lofty to say “Thank You”. Fred was in hospital for a year or so and then took a medical discharge from the army. Time is running out so any help/info most appreciated

You can look for William Bond by using 192.com or bt-online.
I think you probably mean Hayle in Cornwall.

These births are from free bmd, and there will be more in actuality, as at least 3 quarters of 1942 and 2 quarters of 1943 are missing.
