I wouldn't hold out too much hope that this distant relative has a photo, if your mother's father didn't keep any of his wife.

Is the info I posted above the right family?

If it is........try researching the children

Did you mother ever meet this woman?

If she did.....when/where, and how old would the woman have been?

Hi Reggie,
Sorry yes, I did change my story...my Mums fault she got confused and said it was Annies daughter...she meant grandaughter or neice.
Her maiden name was definitely Parker....she married a William Hutchins, had several children, he died in the 1914 war, then she married Harry Barber, she had twins a boy and girl, Joan and Henry....Henry died the following year. My mum survived, ...my Mum was evacuated in the war, her Mum Annie died of appendicitis, My Mum was either 13 or 14 .

Becky Parker......may be married now, would probably have photos of my Nan, who I never knew.

Thanks for helping me.
Best Wishes
Sue xxx

There is nothing in the records to support that theory

The MMN on Joan's birth reg'n was Hutchins. The mother married under the name Hutchins, so, unless she had reverted to her maiden name for some reason, she was born as Hutchins.

Have you considered purchasing certs to get the facts?.

And you've changed your story.............you started out saying that this 'Becky' was Annie's child.

You still haven't said who told you about her

My Mums name is Joan Annie Reddecliffe
Her maiden name was Barber
she was born on 14th July 1927

Her mums name was Annie Barber
She was married before...name then was Hutchins
Her maiden name was Parker
She was born in May ?? ....dont know year

I think Becky was either Annies grandaughter or her neice.

Thanks for replying everyone, I hope I find her and get a photo of my Nan.
Best Wishes, Sue xx

Who told you about 'Becky'?

And what - exactly - were you told?

Why do you think your grandmother ever had the surname 'Parker'?

Annie's death?

Deaths Dec 1941
Barber Annie 55 Greenwich 1d 843

Although, your mum would have been 14 by then.

This must be your mother:

Births Sep 1927
Barber Henry J Hutchins Greenwich 1d 1228
Barber Joan A Hutchins Greenwich 1d 1228

then

Deaths Mar 1928 (>99%)
Barber Henry J 0 Greenwich 1d 1083

and this must be the marriage:

Marriages Jun 1927
Barber Henry J Hutchins Greenwich 1d 1982
Hutchins Annie Barber Greenwich 1d 1982

Not sign of the name Parker.

If your mum was 13 in the war and Becky was born before this she must be in her mid 80s at least.

Sue,

Can you list years of birth and locations? When and where was your mother born?

Not seeing a marriage for a Parker to a Harry/Henry Barber.

Hi Sue.
I don't think her first name was Becky - there isn't a single Becky Parker birth on Freebmd, which goes up to 1955ish.
I suggest one of two things. Either identify her birth, hence full name (hopefylly with a middle initial!) which might help with a marriage.
Alternatively, could you find her via her father's family? But you still need to find her birth. Do you know Annie's maiden name?

Hi Jan, Thanks for replying.

The name of the person is Becky Parker...she may be married now, I dont know her married name.

Her Mum was also my Mums mum, ...her Mum remarried to a Harry Barber, and had my Mum and a twin brother who died at 6 months old.

Becky would almost certainly have pictures of my Mums Mum....which would also be my Nan, who I never knew as she died of appendicitis during the war, when my Mum was only 13.
Thanks for looking,
Best Wishes,

Sue, It's almost certain nobody who knows her will see this.
Was it 'Becky' (Maybe Rebecca?) or her mother who married Harry??
Are you saying her current name is Parker?
